My big fat list of theories and clues
Anybody want to theorize with me?
alright, so my current theory goes a little something like this.
Crane wants to sleep with Snow White, so he gets somebody else to get Lily to transform into Snow and bring her into the hotel room. It has to be another person or else he’d be immediately be recognized as the fucking Deputy Mayor of Fabletown. He could have used a black market Glamour in order to change how he looked,) but there’s evidence of another person involved.)
The cigarette on the tabletop
Crane hates smoke, Snow White states that he hates it so much he doesn’t allow people to smoke in his office. There’s no way he would allow Lily to smoke around him.)
the photograph
There had to be a third person in order to take the photo of Crane and Snow. And crane would be much too paranoid to just leave the incriminating evidence at the scene of the crime.
The photographs leave another clue. This is the 80’s, it takes time to develop photos. Which leads me to believe Lily has been kept in the room for the time she’d been reported missing. She could have been kept unconscious the entire time with magic, since Bigby didn’t smell poison.
Also the photographs of Snow and Bigby being stalked look like incomplete pictures, if you look a bit closer at the pictures, you'll notice a circular "frame" around the images. Was he using the magic mirror to stalk her? If this doesn't at least implicate him as the murderer, it at least show's he's a creepy pervert.)
The Changed Lock
The changed lock that Beauty couldn’t open also shows that they didn’t want anybody coming into the room. The changed lock also implicates Georgie, for the last few weeks, nobody just happened to use room 207? Somebody must have known and deliberately kept all the other escorts from using that room.)
The Body
So it’s pretty obvious that Crane was the one who did the body dumping. His bio in-game tells how Crane ran away from Sleepy Hollow because he was constantly humiliated by his rival. Also leads to him being into a power fantasy sexually. But this leaves the question of the head. Why was it left behind if Crane wanted to get away with it? Which implicates a second person involved with this. Also when you leave Lily, Crane says he would do something with it. When I played I promised Holly that she could have Lily’s body. So I feel like that’s going to come up as a later plot point.)
Crane’s Behaviour
It also comes up that Crane is prejudiced against trolls. He comments on how they should have been left behind in the Old world. Personally, I don’t think Crane KNEW Lily was a troll.
Which also implicates an accomplice because that means somebody else set up Crane’s “massage appointments” Which also leads me to back up my theory that Lily was kept in the hotel room where Crane had… “access” at any time. Although that makes me wonder who was setting up these appointments.
Another thing is that Crane seemed genuinely sad when Snow died, and surprised when it turned out she was live, which makes me wonder if he actually thought he was sleeping with Snow? And maybe when he put his hands up her legs, he noticed the track marks and realized it wasn't her and killed her?)
The Ribbons/Georgie
"These lips are sealed" has come up. The little mermaid, faith, Woodsman, and the Magic mirror have all said it. Faith brings her ribbon to your attention, and all the Escorts wear them at the Pudding and Pie. I’m thinking that the ribbons themselves are enchanted, it keeps up with the discretion that the Puddin’ and PIe requires. It keeps the Escorts from talking, and keeps them hidden from magical Scrying items like the Magic mirror. It doesn’t explain why the Woodsman says that though. Maybe he picked up the turn of phrase from Lily while he spent time with her.
There’s been a few theories floating around saying that the ribbons is what is cutting the heads off the women. Maybe the ribbon was left behind in Faith’s mouth as a hint? The serial killer wants to play a game? Challenge Bigby. It’s established he’s not very popular in Fabletown. )
Holes:
There are a few holes in this theory. It doesn’t explain why Faith was killed, it doesn’t explain why Snow’s head was left at the Fabletown apartments. Faith is a big mystery here. In my version of the story, I saved Lawrence, so hopefully that leads to some more clues. :<)
Comments
The way i see it is: Crane was was framed and has no knowledge of the murders. There was way too much evidence at the crime scene in the hotel that pointed to Crane, which means he was being set up by somebody that wants him gone. I do think he was actually getting with prostitutes that were glamoured as snow in that room, but the murder mustve taken place after he had left the hotel.
The title...I should've been "big bad theories and clues"...ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY HAVE THE WORD BIG IN A SENTENCE AND NOT JOIN IT WITH BAD.Especially here.
Bluebeard? I mean it would make sense he might of wanted to get into the position of deputy mayor he does have a history of chopping young women's heads of and why would Crane kill Faith although Crane was acting weird when Bigby picked up the glamour box and why would he put a photo of him there like you said it's probably a set up and you do see Bigby angry at Bluebeard while Bluebeard is smirking in the photo for Episode 4:(Wolf In Sheep's Clothing) and why did Crane want the Woodsman being interrogation but Tweedle Dee is he his boss ?
I wouldn't quite rule him out as knowing nothing about the murders. But yeah I don't think he's actually the killer at this point in time. Although it really does sound like he was the one who dumped Lily/Snow's body in the river.
