stuck on case 4 with two problems

Im stuck on case 4 i think it is. I for one cant figure out how to put the tail light back together and also i know i need to get the tape out from a trash can but i can't find it. Can someone help me out?

    You'll get something later that will help you put the tail light together.

    Here's some info you may need to get the Tape. (spoilers)
    1) Make sure you've taken the fire poker to Robbins to confirm it's the murder weapon. You have to process the print and blood on it first. 2) Make sure you've matched the tire tread you found in the street to one of the database samples. 3) Make sure you've assembled the teacup. 4) Once you've done all of that, you should be able to go back to the street and there will be some trash cans there.

    Ok, I'm in the lab trying to put the tail light together and I know how it's supposed to go but the pieces won't click together. Is there a certain place on the table I'm supposed to line everything up?:mad:
