  • Anyway, you all should have know the risks of buying into a Telltale game based on The Walking Dead: Season One alone.

Actually, Telltale had a pretty solid record at getting titles released in a monthly schedule prior to when they adopted the tailored narrative gameplay as their new standard.

Judging Telltale overall by Walking Dead: Season 1 isn't accurate unless you are going off of tailored narrative games alone - in which case, yeah, that gameplay style is new for Telltale so they are likely trying to figure out how to get it produced as quick as their older point and click adventure titles were.

I'm sorry, but unless I missed it, I was not able to find such tweet stating "We'll have news on its release much sooner than you think." I

  • I think that the biggest problem for, at least TWAU, was the 4 months gap between Ep 1 and 2. There wouldn't be any complaining if they were clear on release dates since day one.

The gap between TWD S2 Ep 1 and 2 wasn't so horrible as TWAU (altough 11 weeks is not good), but it only helps to increase this animosity between fans and the company.

Also, Season 1's time gap were acceptable.

  • Well they would still have a month to do that. Maybe that's not enough time, I don't know I'm just a dude with a keyboard.

  • I agree. Telltale needs to be better organized.

  • I don't know...

Sometimes keeping up with the original plan is a nice move as well, could be bad too

I have the opinion that feedback should be taken only on extreme cases (ME3 ending, for exemple) and gameplay cases

I don't think we will be getting it April 1st unless they do a super surprise release which i doubt they will do, they normally love to hype the game at lease a week before release with screenshots, teasers and the trailer, recently they normally do a Up At noon interview close to release with a voice actor from the game to get more hype and attention from the IGN audience. They also haven't change their Twitter background and icon to TWAU which they should have done by now if the release was Tuesday.

  • I can imagine that the wait between episodes is for your benefit. It seems to me that this is mainly a marketing issue. Longer waiting periods and release schedules give you more time to create a hype about the game and attract attention, especially compared to non-episodic, single-release-date games. That's probably the main reason for the whole episodic-whatever marketing strategy.

I still think the episode will release in early April like who we do not speak predicted. But what bothers me is that it has nearly been half a year since the first episode. If they continue to drag out the time the summer finale will also turn out to be baloney.

  • I don't know about you guys, while I can understand your frustration and impatience, I don't really feel that frustrated and impatient as I did with Episode 2. I don't know...Maybe I have just grown more patient due to all the frustration and impatient? :)

  • That's the best Hitler parody / Telltale jab anyone could ever want.

Ive been saying for weeks that I dont think we're going to see anything for this game until mid april, and if nothing comes by passover, not until the end of the month. TTG probably need at least 4 weeks of lead time between production of their two games.

But the seasons for both TWD and Wolf Among us are not likely to conclude until 2015 at the rate its going. And thats pretty pathetic, TBH.

The wait times are going to get worse in the future. God help the folks that buy that Game of thrones series TTG is developing. Those people are going to be waiting 4-5 months at a time for an hour and a half of gameplay, IMO. The saving grace is that the episodes are still relatively cheap at five bucks a pop, so i guess you get what you pay for. Im probably done with telltales episodic games after all of this years Wolf Among us and Walking dead games are released, anyway, but if they raise prices in the future, I am MOST CERTAINLY done.

It seems like the Wolf Among Us got completely screwed by something or someone and they are basically re-doing the game from scratch. IMO, thats what is really happening. It'd be uber embarrassing for them to admit they screwed up that badly, but i think fans and consumers deserve to be informed either way. Especially season pass owners like me.

  • Yeah, I agree

Only one thing could change the future: the last 3 episodes being terrifc and receive critial acclaim. Otherwise, TWAU won't see a Season 2

  • I want to believe, too, Biggs. I really do. First week of April, anyone? Is it a long shot?

  • I don't mind waiting to a point. A couple months in between episodes is alright but almost half a year is unacceptable. So as long as episode 3 comes out sooner than 2 did where ok but if not then that sucks and that means TellTale has some serious issues with this series.

  • ...

First week of April it is, then.

    (?) Azlyn is disappointed.

  • Episodic gaming is torture. Waiting 2 to 4 months for an hour and a half of game play is insane.

  • There's the silver lining. If Telltales episodes were 3 to 4 hours each, then the wait wouldn't be as bad.

I guess it's possible. Unless they're going for the April Fools angle. which, if they are, is soooooo annoying. but maybe. we'll have to wait and see. -optimistic walking commenter.

I am going to take a guess that we are now waiting for the Sony and Microsoft certification process to complete which takes two weeks, if Telltale submitted it to them on the same day thet they uploaded the files to the steam server it could mean that the 8th could hopefully be the release date.

I personally gave up on the concept of hope generally somewhere around the age 14. I'm just waiting for it impatiently.
