  • In retrospect, the 'develop two games at once' plan might have been ill-advised.

  • Remember that they still have another two games to produce....

I fear things will only get worse....

I did a refund request the last month for my Season Pass for The Walking Dead on Steam when I was confronted with Telltale Games's true and worthless customer service for the first time, and bought a monthly pass at the gym instead. I still own the Season Pass for The Wolf Among Us though, and really hope I never have to do another refund request if Telltale continue with this vague attitude.

Conclusion: Never buy a Season Pass from Telltale Games before it's on sale after the finale.

  • I guess it's better buying it at Steam Sales

Im not 100% sure as i have never asked for a refund but i think its steam who handle refund requests when you buy from them so any bad customer servise will be down to steam.

  • Alt text No, seriously - I'm mad right now, but I know that once they will release this episode, I'll forigive them in an instant (as it happened with ep 2). And then I'll be mad again because of the wait for episode 4, then forgive them again... They deliver quality games, but their silence is annoying. ONE screenshot would be enough for me to know that the game is coming, instead of being kept in the dark for so long.

  • That's why I won't be getting Game of Thrones until all episodes will be released.

    Dear telltale staff,

this is getting ridiculous! Why are you letting your PR Boss tell us, that we will get news "much sooner than we think" if you cant tell us anything, anything at all? Its been 2 weeks since Mr. Stauffer told us this via Twitter:

I think I talk for the whole community if I say: We deserve news from you, right now!

Sing it brother, sing it from your soul! Hallelujah!

  • Why not buy a season pass? I bought one? Why? For the cheaper price. I'm still going to play all of the episodes, but at the end of the day the season pass saved me 5 bucks. Either way, I'm going to buy all those episodes. Might as well save some money.

  • This time i'm jumping on the bandwagon as well, for the same reason as you. When they tell us we will get news "sooner than we think" I didn't expect two weeks to pass by without a tiny piece of news.

Oh well, I guess "sooner than you think" became the new most hated word in TT's dictionary.

Im thinking TTG may have already made the decision to only do one TWAU season. Perhaps that is also a reason for the big re-write that seems to have happened.

    iorek21 posted: »

Yeah, I agree Only one thing could change the future: the last 3 episodes being terrifc and receive critial acclaim. Otherwise, TWAU won't see a Season 2

No, I think I'll only forgive them when they begin to give us the release dates schedule upfront

Actually, I don't even think we HAVE to forgive them. We are paying custumers, after all

  • A screenshot or two will be nice.. In my opinion, this is why telltale shouldn't work on two games at once.

  • I made a refund request back in January i think, when people where getting episode 1 for free and a discount on the season pass. That was really special.....

They gave me some corporate type double talk and refereed me to xbox live support, who in turn told me the same thing and to sent me back to telltale. Totally worthless.

Two games? Make that four - Game of Thrones and Borderlands are scheduled to begin in 2014. They're probably in pre-production right now for a fall release.

  • I know, that's why I hate all this situation too. But I have to admit, after all the problems with TWD1, I promised myself I won't buy TWAU until it's complete. And now, well... I bought The Wolf right after premiere, couldn't resist it - I just didn't know that delays will be so outrageous. I mean, with an episode every two months, we should be waiting for the fourth one instead of third.

  • You're absolutely right. But unfortunately for us, Telltale couldn't care less. I don't know why we get nothing, day after day after day, but we do. no news. no blog posts just to say "hey don't lose hope, we're looking at an April release here." just...... nothing - pessimistic walking commenter.

  • I think they're not working on GOT yet, and I know they're working on Borderlands but I meant the games they actually have released now, they could possibly not release GOT until TFTB is over.

  • Telltale started as an indie company. The Walking Dead made them the big name they are today but they still behave like an indie company and that's where the crappy PR comes from.

  • Don't count on it - Borderlands is being made right now, and - judging from the interviews - they're already writing the script for GOT.

  • I expect some news before now. it looks like its delayed. I seriously hope its not 2020. I really don't want wait 4 months again.

  • God I hope this isn't true but I just saw something on ign saying episode 3 will released December 31st 2014? Seriously? A year for another episode? That's absolutely ridiculous! Again, I hope it isn't true.

  • After all this time, how can any of you look at a tweet from someone at Telltale with the word 'soon' in it and NOT think you're being trolled?

  • edited March 2014

I don't know anything...I am guessing here. it dose look like its delayed but its not likely a year. I am just commenting on @TomMartinHagen picture.

if it was push back for a longer period I would give a link to website.

  • Same old Telltale.

  • We have all been trolled since October last year. But it is now that we have begun to realize that.

  • edited March 2014

I'm thinking Stauffer needs to apologize at the very least. If I were him, I'd feel like an idiot and would be embarrassed. The fact that none of this is being addressed by any of Telltale's staff (mods, you are excluded because you know as much as we do) makes me feel as if I'm inane and don't matter to Telltale (which is probably true). And that hurts.

Is it really that difficult to get another post up on Twitter saying...ANYTHING about the episode?

  • God damn it, Telltale, YOU GUYS ARE ADDING BAD STIGMA TO YOUR COMPANY'S NAME ;_;

If we don't get some news soon, I'm going to flip my proverbial shit.

  • I thought maybe telltale had changed. "news sooner then you think" "the episode coming sooner that you might expect" I was.... hopeful. My mistake. as each day went by with no news, I gradually lost my hope. slowly I grew more cynical, less believing. and now I am the shattered wreck of a broken forum user you see before you today. - pessimistic walking commenter.

  • It's called lowered expectations.

I don't know about you guys, while I can understand your frustration and impatience, I don't really feel that frustrated and impatient as I

  • It's amazing how having the episodic feature gives them the opportunity to deny all delays when clearly 2 months is too long for a 1.30/2 hour episode getting released. Even the worst video game companies admit it when they're games are going to be delayed. I don't think Telltale even has a PR department because God knows what the hell they're thinking by being so silent about everything. People are considerate fans wouldn't start flaming if you actually gave them a hint about what's going on. All I want to hear is "The game will be delayed". Is that too much to ask? Instead of using Soon, super soon and creating more superlatives of the word soon maybe you could stop giving the eagerly awaiting fans false hope because it certainly ruining our experience of the game. But hey maybe I'm just blowing it out of proportion?

Ugh I'm just disappointed, you've ruined the wolf among us for me. It's pretty clear that you've killed the buzz that was surrounding the game. All the hard work from the creative department, voice actors who've put real effort into the making of this game completely undermined by the fool who thought the silent treatment to be the best option regarding the delays, it's just been frustrating and I think more than most people are sick of playing the guessing and the waiting game.
