edited April 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

In case you've forgotten, Rachel's the little girl with the floral dress in the witch's house.

  • She told me her name was Rachel... besides, it doesn't really matter, since she's just aunty Greenleaf anyway.

  • GOOD POINT

And based on what I've seen, it's possible that they're two different people that switch places.

  • Cute at first, not so much after you're realize she's not the real thing.

    Also reuses Clem's animations

  • I am pretty sure its faith, and Aunty Greenleaf is her mom.

  • nothing, i suspected from the start that she's dat friggin witch using a glamour.

  • As soon as I saw that she didn't have incisors (middle teeth), I knew she was up to something.

  • What if there was Rachel (Greenleafs picture where is her both forms) and she died.

Greenleaf mentioned that everyone around her died so was Rachel her daughter? Or is the picture just fake?

  • DAT CUTE CLEMMY!!

  • naah, rachel was just one of the kids she fattened, cooked in her stove and ate.

just like in Hansel and Gretel.

thats why everyone around her dies, cause she fattens, cooks and eats them.

    :P

  • I thought she was adorable at first.

Then I found the glamour and realised who she really was...

  • Jesus, im glad i burned that tree now : D

  • Knew it was AG from the start. Why would a child open the door? Is AG really the old witch from Hansel and Gretel?

  • As soon as Bigby opens the glamour tube Rachel goes apeshit about, she instantly turns, stating that it hurts when it happens so fast.
So Rachel was her glamour and bigby turned it off at that point.

Honestly they had me, as soon as i saw Rachel i was convinced she was someone in a glamour, but when seeing a picture on the wall of her and Aunty Greenleaf i thought i was wrong.
    Welp, right anyway.

  • In my game, she didn't open the door. I went to kick it in, Snow told me not to, I gave her a look like "yeah, whatever" and kicked it in anyway.

It burst open in some little kids face, she screamed, Snow was like "WTF!?" and I was like "Oooooh... shit. My bad."

Then when nobody was around I began to suspect, then I found the glamour tube and figured it out. Then I set fire to the bitch's tree. I thought about employing her as one of Bigby's off-the-books helpers, but decided against it. She should have been more helpful to begin with.

Oh, and to answer your question, no she isn't the witch from Hansel and Gretel. That's Frau Totenkinder, who has a main role in the comics.

looking forward to meet "frau totenkinder" in the comics, thats a pretty badass name (and its german, yeah)

    "miss deathchildren", wtf

  • I was thinking the same thing. I believe that in Aunty Greenleaf´s book of fables entry it is mentioned that there are rumours going around that Greenleaf lost her daughter.

What if there was Rachel (Greenleafs picture where is her both forms) and she died. Greenleaf mentioned that everyone around her died so was Rachel her daughter? Or is the picture just fake?

  • Even tough I already knew she was Greenleaf I actually found her dialogues very funny. It woulded be cool if Rachel was actually a character.

  • Actually, the witch who tried baking Hansel and Gretel in the Fables Universe is Frau Totenkinder. Unless Greenleaf is Frau in disguise, then Hansel and Gretel in particular were not on her list of children she has eaten.

  • Frau is pretty badass. She is essentially a "Good guy" since she sides with Fabletown. She's done some pretty messed up things in the past (baking children....) But she's one of my favorite characters. Fun fact: In the spin off series, Fairest, it is revealed that Frau has a daughter, despite claiming she has no children in the main comics. Her daughter is Rapunzel, and she bought Rapunzel from a poor family and gave her the curse of long hair while still in the Homelands. That was after she decided to stop killing little kids, of course.

  • Interesting. Why does she curse her with long-hair, what would be the reason for that? Witch stuff, no doubt.

  • I believe it's strongly implied that Rachel is Greenleaf's daughter who is probably dead and at the very least left back in the homelands. The type of glamour used can only be used to take the form of a person who actually exists. Clearly Greenleaf has some of her daughter's hair and can use it to take the form of her daughter via the glamour. This also explains the picture.

  • She was cute at first, but then not so much.

  • She's cute. I mean, i would have enjoyed seeing kids in Bigby's vicinity, just to see him react to them. She wasn't that cute once i realized she wasn't for real... I am actually sorry for Greenleaf... Poor Rachel...

  • All the better to see you with... wait - wrong Fable. Woops.

  • Well I did some looking around, and apparently in the folktale Aunty Greenleaf is from that she really did have a daughter. And her daughter almost died. It is because everyone around her would get ill and eventually die. Except for that on tree she has. And apparently Aunty Greenleaf can actually turn into a white deer. And in her story eventually she dies because she had 3 silver bullets in her spine due to hunters trying to get rid of her.

Well that's what I have found out anyway. :3

I think Rachel is actually Bloody Mary. They look similar (hair, eyes, fleckers, cheek scar)and Mary looks young enough to be AG daughter.the entry for BM says that her origin is unknown.

  • Maybe it's more than a glamour. Maybe it was actually a child. She freaked out when Bigby held the glamour. That was quite wierd for an adult to do just for a little pain it caused.

  • She mentioned this. "The men are heroes, the ladies are whores and old hags like me gets to watch everyone they love die." So yeah, I think Rachel might be her real daughter. Also, I think part of the reason of why she is so protective of the tree, it is because she is still grieving and want to see her daughter's living face.

Also, if Bigby burns the tree, she sounds upset and like she is mourning the death of someone.

  • Yeah. And it's not just her daughter's face that she's replicated either. Rachel's personality and mannerisms are completely distinct from Auntie Greenleaf's. Maybe glamouring herself up as her daughter and trying to act out how Rachel used to be is Greenleaf's way of keeping her daughter's spirit alive. She did say that that tree was "part of the family."
