Great third episode, shame about the length
Another stunning episode of TWAU. It feels like they've captured the spirit of the comics and fleshed out the characters in much more interesting ways. The only complaint I have really is the length. Episode two seemed abbreviated (possibly due to the technical or production issues they had during development) and episode three was similarly brief. I think this one took me 1 hr and 10 minutes.
Is this because Telltale has struggled with their development schedule and is now trying to get the content out as quickly as possible? Are they now reducing the size of their episodes because they're working on multiple titles? Or is it for financial reasons?
Obviously, I don't mean to offend anyone with this post.

Actually A Crooked Mile is the longest episode so far. Faith being second.
i felt it had a very nice lenght
I kinda liked the lenght. Sure, more is always better, but I think what Telltales is doing is great. This is one of the most replayable story games out there, and it's got your attention from start to finish. I rather have them continue what they do now, and keep us hooked by giving us these Episodes every 2 months or so, than have them take half a year giving us these bigger episodes, and making me have to replay the game 5 times to remember what happened xP
I get that people want a bunch for their money, but be positive. You get an A+ game, Amazing story, Awesome characters and replayability for a pretty low price.
I timed my first playthrough, took it 1:30 hours to start to finished so im happy.
But i like to interact with stuff etc. but still, got my moneys worth and im very pleased and looking forward to next episode.
I'm pretty sure faith was longer.
I'm 100% sure it wasn't.
All youtube playhtroughs I can find show that episode 3 was about 20 minutes shorter.
Well I have them on my trophies and A Crooked Mile beat Faith by four minutes.
I finished the 3. episode after 1h 20min, so it was the shortest episode for me (and it also felt very much like it).
But it was again an awesome episode though.
I thought it was pretty good personally. No complaints, i really enjoyed this episode.
Not too bad about the leght. It's clear the story was rearranged in this episode. Anyway if they keep this lenght for the following I'm ok with that
Yeah, It did feel pretty short. It was interesting and intriguing (moreso than episode 2 which felt like most parts dragged on) so the feel of it hurts more because I was more into it than epsiode 2. I think I missed out on some things because I went into Crane's apt first without checking the other doors by mistake. Maybe depending on which places you go to, it takes longer. My play seemed to run about an hour fifteen (started about 11:13 ended 12:30.
people say episode 2 was longer and 3 was shorter and i feel the other way around maybe because i was more invested in ep 3 ?
I wasn't bothered by the length. I thought it was a strong episode. It's about as long as most movies, and it told a good story. I would have hated to see them drag out any scene too long or shoe horn something in that didn't fit, just to try to make it longer. Generally speaking, a story only needs to be as long as the amount of time it takes to tell it effectively.
Tired of people complaining of the length. Length doesn't make a game good. Gameplay and story makes a game good. This game is great and the episode was perfect in length
I don't know what you're talking about, it took me a good 2 hours.
It was short, but had better replay value than the rest.
That could just be you, but for the majority of people it seems to be the case that completing Faith took longer, making it the longer episode.
It was waaay better than ep2
A Crooked Mile took me 3 hours both times I played it.
I wasn't bothered by the length, it took me about two and a half hours,. Plus, it is one of the most replayable episodes, so it isn't really a problem.
This episode definitely feels the longest by far and the most satisfying too. I was half-expecting it to end after a few cut-scenes way before the ending.
Certainly didn't seem short to me. I don't know how people get these ultra-short play times? Do you just rush through and try to play as quickly as possible?
I don't time how long it takes me to complete an episode, but in terms of how long the episodes feel like they are, I would say the longest is episode 3, second is episode 1, and shortest is episode 2. Episode two did actually feel like it was lacking substance, but 1 & 3 felt complete and of a satisfying length, so no reason to complain.
Yeah, for me faith was longer.
It is short, but I can't really tell, and that's a good thing.
Given that they're both the 3rd episode in their respective series, I think it's pretty fair to compare A Crooked Mile to Long Road Ahead.
Long Road Ahead had heaps of puzzles, none of which were entirely compelling (starting a train, etc) which made the episode feel and play a lot longer. A Crooked Mile was extremely fast-paced, there weren't any scenes that felt like they didn't do something to further the story in some way. It introduced a bevy of new and interesting characters... Long Road Ahead had some of the best story moments in the Walking Dead season 1, but was really only longer because it had the train sequence, which isn't particularly fun on replays.
In your opinion, yes. But I have just as much right as you do to voice my opinion on the length of the game. If you read my original post, I praised it as a great episode.
Maybe I inadvertently chose the fastest route through the game. I went to Dee and Dum's office rather than to Crane's apartment and it progressed very quickly. I guess it will probably be a longer run if I go back and make different choices.
Of course, longer would be better, but would episode 2 be any better than average if it were 2 hours or more?
Quality over quantity every time.
Depending on your choices in this episode, it's possible to bypass a whole location completely. Hopefully you'll try a replay to see everything A Crooked Mile has to offer!
The question is, do you want an immersive experience? Or a long and dull-dragged on experience? I thought this episode was great and it certainly didn't felt short.
I wasn't really bothered by the length. I mean, the quality was absolutely AMAZING, and i just want to enjoy the episodes, no matter what. On the other hand, i think we are all witnesses of Telltale's wonderful development. More choices, more consequences, more characters, more awesomeness, more EVERYTHING. And i'm pretty sure it's kinda hard making such stunning episodes in a month. I think the problem is the lack of staff. Just saying, i don't know for sure, it's just an opinion. Maybe if Telltale had more people to work with, we'd get the episodes faster, longer, and with the same cool quality. And not only for TWAU. Still, not to seem ungrateful or anything, i'm just super happy to play these games anyway. And, obviously, the wait for the episodes makes them even more wanted, i think. The longer i wait for them, the more pumped i am to play them. I'd give MY EFFING SOUL for TWAU or TWD or BOTH right now. They are just so awesome.
There you are, Azlyn. I was wondering where you went.
You will never get rid of me
Great news. Then I retract my critique. I chose to go straight to Dum and Dee's, which I'm guessing was the shortest route I could possible have taken. Looking forward to seeing the other options.
It took me 1h and 26 min ending the 3rd episode, but it was still a rollercoaster of emotions.
I just think complaining about length is silly though. I think the length is perfect. The episode is only 5 dollars after all.
actually i felt like long road ahead was the wealest episode in season 1of TWD
. * Looks at TWD S1 * Yeah, so was that.
Doesnt make this episode any less stupidly short
