The Tweedles in Fables

I have never read the comics but I was wondering if they are ever mentioned in there, or are main characters? Or have a gravestone like I once read a character from the game had at least.

I've never seen them as far as I remember, but I'm not totally up-to-date and I haven't read any of the spinoffs.

  • I think that a lot of the characters from TWAU aren't seen at all in Fables, for example, Grendel isn't seen at all. The Tweedles aren't either. I know that Beast, Beauty and Snow are alive.

I assume that the majority of characters in TWAU are not from the comics so TTG can be more flexible with them and kill off whoever they choose.

  • I've read all the issues and most of the spin-offs. They are a telltale set of characters, not from Fables. There is, however, Alice from the same book. She's only appeared in the Jack of Fables spin-offs though. She's not a major character. If you have any questions of other characters, I'll tell you about them :)

  • While we're on the subject, anybody else think Beauty's characterisation doesn't quite mesh with the one in the comics?

The other characters fit really well, but Beauty just doesn't seem... I dunno... bitchy enough? I remember her from the comics as kind of up herself, even though she's in a downtrodden situation to begin with, she's very ambitious and kind of angry and a little self-entitled. In the game she seems kind of nicer, mellower, more naïve, and actually gets some sympathy for her situation.

There's little moments of recognition, like when Beast reveals some important information he overheard at the bar and her reaction is just "Have you been drinking?!" but for the most part I'm not sure... what do you guys think?

  • Is the Queen of Hearts in them?

  • They never appear or are mentioned i guess. This is how Telltale get to be able to write a story were charachter actually die or are injured.

In order not to get in contrast with the comics, they all have to pick Fables that are not mentioned to be able to move them with some freedom of thought.

Also by saying that there is a tombstone of Mr. Toad in the comics you revealed he died, and this makes me very sad. I'll get even sadder if he dies in the wolf among us.

  • He doesn't die in the game, don't worry.

  • Sorry for spoiling, I didn't mean to. If it helps I don't even know how it happens either but I assumed it happened in the comics, not the game.

  • No, not that I know of. I wish though, man! That'd be cool.

  • Yeah, I know what you mean. I think ALL of the characters have something weird about them, mostly Snow in my case though. Whenever someone asks who I like most in TWAU, I say,"I like Snow in the game. But I love Snow in the comics." It's the same for all the characters, I suppose.

I am curious what you think is off about Snow? She seems fine to me, since she kinda started out this way. Early in the comics she was like she is in the game, and then she mellowed and became less "ice queen" as things with Bigby developed. She's not my personal favourite character though, so maybe you have some deeper observations?

Bigby in the game can vary quite a bit thanks to player choice, but he seems a little dumber than in the comics, where he seems to be one-step-ahead and incredibly competent with investigations and subterfuge. Beauty is a lot different, for reasons I gave originally. Beast is a well-meaning musclebound dumbass, just like in the comics.

  • I completely agree with your observations about everyone. As for Snow, I guess she seems a little off than what she would be from the comics to me. I dunno, I guess I expected her to repress her emotions a little more in the game.
