Shipping and Billing Question

On Saturday the 10th, at around 6:00 pm, I ordered a copy of Sam & Max: Surfing the Highway via credit card. Since then, I have not received any notification of processing, or any notification really; through e-mail or otherwise. I have, however, been billed for the item.

I just wanted to try and verify that there had not been any error in my order, and how to rectify the problem if it exists.

    Hey there,

I just looked up the order, and from what I can tell the charge was rejected due to an invalid zip code (or a zip code that didn't match your billing address). Do you remember getting an error message when you tried to submit your order?

We have not collected any money from the card, but sometimes in this situation credit card companies display the authorization as if it were a charge for a short period of time, and then it goes away. If you contact the credit card company they can probably clear it for you.

Ah. Okay. I didn't get any kind of error message. We're asked to use a special-format zip code when having things sent to our on-campus mail boxes. It doesn't have to be used though.

What is the quickest way to get this straightened out? The standard zip code for the shipping address is 28403, or just having it sent to the billing address is fine as well.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly by the way.

What browser are you using? It concerns me that the error didn't show up.

If you're worried about the original authorization on the card, you should contact your credit card company to have it cleared. Otherwise, just place a new order using the standard format zip code, and then send me a PM and I'll check and make sure the order went through. You can include the special format zip code on your shipping address, just don't use it on the billing address.

I'm using Firefox 3.0.5 as my browser at the moment, which I would imagine is pretty common these days. I suspect that there may have been a connection issue. My hookup hasn't been very reliable lately.

So, just to clarify, did the order cancel due to the error? Did it not place at all? Or is it still pending, awaiting a valid zip code?

Due to the error, the order never went through in the first place.

Okay, great. Thank you for your help. I'll go ahead and re-order the next time I get a chance.
