Comic Question: Will he Return? [SPOILERS]

edited April 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

One thing that was bugging me lately was Bigbys Death in the Comics. I've read up to Issue 133 and wanted to ask you people if he is going to return for the final fights. What do you think? I just don't want to belie e that he really is dead, especially because bis death was a very cheap shot by Brandish. Would be cool if you could post what you think about this, because i tried to find discussions about this topic and didn't find any.

  • After I finished episode 3 I decided to start reading the comics . I was fortunate enough to have a buddy from college who happened to collect them since 2004 and I borrowed them . All I am saying is that I don't know how the mind behind the series works , but I strongly suggest to read issue #134 which will answer a lot of your questions .

Personally , I am not afraid of whether Bigby is coming back or not , because the answer is obvious . He is coming back in one way or the other . What I am REALLY afraid of is Snow dying after the events of Camelot which would be horrible and really sad .

Recently I started gathering important information of previous issues and crafted a theory on what we should be expecting next . I am still working on it , but believe me that I found hard evidence that some huge things will happen over the last 8 issues (Fables end with issue #150 which will be a 150 page issue if I recall correctly) . I intend to post it on the official Fable discussion forums but I might also post a link here as well . It will be huge (over 8 pages of .word with narrow borders and relatively small letters) but I think its worth reading if you find time .

    seven pubs future...
The first child will be a king.
    The second child a pauper.
The third will do an evil thing.
The fourth will die to stop her.
The fifth will be a hero bold.
The sixth will judge the rest.
The seventh lives to ages old, and is by heaven blessed

No he will be back. his fate : he will never grow old, but he will continue to grow in strength and power, fall in love with Snow White (a woman strong in wild magic, who will eventually confess her love for him), father seven children ("sons" and "daughters" - which implies Ghost is either male or female, not gender-neutral) - gods and monsters (in fact, part-gods, due to their North Wind grandfather and monsters, due to their wolf nature) who will lay waste to worlds (implying all of his cubs will do terrible things, eventually - though this is contradicted by Dare's suicide, for a noble cause, before he had committed any monstrous deed of any kind at all). Also, once he has died seven times, he will outlive all of his cubs.

  • Remember the prophecy that Ozma gives Ambrose? That answers your question.

  • Yeah its pretty clear Bigby will live on even after the events of Camelot because we see a snapshot of Ambrose speaking to Lake (as his wife) after some years . The point is , what will happen with Snow ? This is the big enigma here , not bigby .

  • Very true. The prophecy doesnt mention Snow. I dont imagine its anything good.

  • Thanks for answering. I kind of feel like an idiot right now, because i just started reading The Comics after The 3rd episode and kind of rushed through them. I'll re-Read them all as soon as possible and try to get issue 134 which is kind of hard here in Germany. But I really habe to say that This is my favourite Comic Series by far. So i apologize for asking a stupid question xD

  • Clearly.

Willingham even said that he was going to mirror the first arc of the trades in the final one, in how Rose, Snow, and Bigby were the prominent characters.

Since we got this sh** started , lets talk whether Snow will surive camelot or not , because I am really nervous about the ending . Having played the game plus read all the comics , I must admitt , I wanna Bigby-Snow have a happily ever after like a 12 year old girl wants a happy ending in a story. Hell , I am surprised for feeling that way , I usually like twists, realism and lack of perfect endings . :/

  • The only stupid question is the one you don't ask. :)

Ghost is male. They refer to him as their son, so I imagine he must have a male sounding voice.

  • He's definitely returning. I've read up to 139, and in one of the ones before it, the comic is told from Winter's point of view. At the end, she wishes she paid more attention to Fabletown because then she could warn everyone what was to come now that the statue of her dad (Bigby) has "Disappeared". It's safe to assume he finally figured out how to come back, but it might not have been a good homecoming.

  • Holy Shit, the exact same thing was what I was thinking. I am so nervous because I don't want Snow or Rose to die and I feel like one of them will as a finale. Snow is literally my favorite character and I would hate to see her die, and I also love Rose because she's awesome too! It really is giving me anxiety trying to think about it, lol.

  • I'm sure that Ghost is a male, but part of me though what if he just has one of those voices that could belong to a boy or a girl and when he finally figures out how to take human form, he will be in the form of a little girl XP I doubt it, but it would be interesting.
