Transferring Gamesaves
Hello. I recently picked up an Nvidia Shield and played the Walking Dead season 1 and 400 days fully. I need to know if there is any possible way, simple or complicated, to transfer my save out of the shield to another android device, or any other device at all. I am returning the device soon so I will not be able to make it to continue with season 2. I also heard that gamesaves across android and any other platform, especially pc, are not compatible with each other. I would really like to know why that is. Thank you.

I am in a similar position, I purchased the season pass, am halfway through episode 2, but need to factory reset my tablet due to a problem. Can I copy out my save game file, and paste it back in once I've wiped my tablet, to pick up where I left off? Secondly, will the app recognise that I've previously purchased the season pass when I download the game again from my Google play account?
@mx98station I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, unfortunately we do not support the transferring of save files between platforms.
@DSP330 Yes, your purchased app will recognize that you have previously purchased the game, but we do not support the backing up of game files on Android devices at this time, my apologies.
Thanks for the reply Mike. That's a shame, I'll stop playing immediately then if I'm going to have to re-play it all over again after the factory reset!
Incidentally, for a game that is so intricately linked to the past choices you've made, some kind of save game backup option should really be priority number 1 for the development team, especially with season 2 also relying on that same precious save file. (And the speed at which people upgrade their phones & tablets these days)
Broken Sword 2 on Android for example, handles this issue perfectly, by including Dropbox integration of game saves directly into the game's Settings menu. I took advantage of this when upgrading my Nexus 7 2012 tablet to my N7 2013 model mid-game
Great game by the way, just annoying I'll soon have to start over again!
Thank you for the feedback, I will make sure to pass it along to the team.
Thanks Mike, it certainly would make for an invaluable feature. Just one more question(!)
As I'm about to factory reset my tablet in the next few days, I've been looking into backing up various other game saves on my tablet. It seems EVERY OTHER game I own stores it's save games inside folders ('com.harebrainedschemes.shadowrun' or 'com.FireproofStudios.TheRoom' for example) under 'Internal Storage - Android - Data' (visible when connecting tablet to PC using a USB cable) All except The Walking Dead, that is
Looking over at the iPad forums it seems a similar process is available for The Walking Dead on that platform (http://www.telltalegames.com/support/discussion/43902/walking-dead-keeping-save-file-after-app-deletion)
Is there any reason why a similar 'com.telltalegames.TheWalkingDead??' folder isn't visible on android? Or any way to make it visible? Or access it in any way? I just though I'd ask this final question before committing to fully wiping my tablet and subsequently all game progress so far. (Clutching at straws I know!)
My apologies, unfortunately I do not believe the same file structure is available for our game at this time. I apologize for any difficulties this may cause you.
OK, fair enough. It was a long shot I know. Thanks anyway
You're welcome, thank you for your feedback!
