Xbox 360 controller support

I just bought The Walking Dead Season 1 for Steam and I can't get my xbox 360 controller to work for the game. I run it on Windows 7 64-bit, and I've tried everything from restarting game, Steam, and computer, mashing buttons while the game is loading and searching around on forums with no luck.

I know the game supports it, but I can't figure out why it wont work for me. I have the same problem with The Wolf Among Us game also.

    Please make sure you have installed the driver for the controller by unplugging it, and plugging it back into your computer, and it should install the drivers for it to function properly. Please also make sure you have plugged the controller into your computer before starting the game, as we have had reports of certain people unable to use the controller after starting the game, while playing on Windows 7.

    If you download 'dinput8.dll' from the web (google it) and put it into the steamapps/common/The Walking Dead folder the game will load when the controller is connected. I just had the same problem with the newly released episode 3.

    Come on Telltale, I love your games, but this minor stuff gets a bit annoying.

    Thank you for posting the extra information @Thwwack. Please note, the 'dinput8.dll fix' is for people playing on Windows 7 that do not have the latest version of Direct X. This will only fix it for Windows 7 users, and will crash the game if on Windows 8 or higher.
