Purchased Retail Version, No CD Key?
Hello, I was finally able to purchase Season 1 of Sam & Max. After playing one of the freebie episodes a few weeks back I was hooked and needed more, and luckily the Circuit City closing down in my city knocked a few bucks off the retail copy (I'm a broke college student).
However, it seems that the retail copy published by the Adventure Company doesn't have any sort of authentication key or anything. Does this mean if I lose the discs or they get scratched up beyond repair that I'm S.O.L.? Would it be possible to make a purchase verification and link my purchase to a TellTale account? (I read in previous threads that you are unable from a technical standpoint to associate it with Steam)
I would even be willing to pay some sort of fee in good faith; I understand that there's a piracy risk with this sort of thing. I've just run into problems like this now and then, so I like to have a backup. I had to repurchase Baldur's Gate because a single small muff on the disc somehow corrupted the entire setup file, as well as Red Alert 2 because of a disc-snapping accident (what fun is Red Alert if you can only play the Allied campaign?).
Thank you for your help with this. I know now in the future to avoid The Adventure Company and buy direct from TellTale (those season DVDs look like a sweet deal).
