Jersey Devil Confirmed.

edited May 2014 in The Wolf Among Us
I don't really know if this thing has already been posted, but i just wanted to show you guys.

So i found out about some tweets from Telltale, about The Wolf Among Us. One was saying "Downington, 1937", and the other, "Greenwich, 1925".

Well, i looked into these dates and found out stuff about the Jersey Devil.

Downignton, 1937- A hunting posse was formed after witnesses near Downingtown, PA, reported seeing a strange kangaroo-like creature around dusk on July 28th.

Greenwich, 1925- A man in Greenwich Township discovered the creature eating chickens. The story goes on to say that the man chased it, shot it, and exhibited the carcass, but this story was never proven.

So i think that, at this point, the Jersey Devil will surely be included. He was also in the comics, by the name of Omar, but i'm surprised that he's in the game, too.

Here's the link to a pic of the Jersey Devil:

So yeah. Again, sorry if this thing has already been posted, but i just found out about those tweets and all, and i was so excited to share it with you guys!

Yeah, it's pretty amazing that he is in this episode

I wonder what his role is...

Anyway, thanks for sharing young Azlyn, I didn't know about those encounters with the creature.

  • :D

I know, right? I wouldn't have expected them to just throw those things at us like that, but they did, and now i am certain we'll see our Omar...

I wonder, if there's the Myth of the Jersey Devil, are there any possibilities for other myths and legends to, i dunno, make a cameo or something?

Oh, well. I am super pumped for the next episode!

  • Yay! So excited, I can't wait for that bastard to get his ass kicked by Bigby. When I was a kid people told me all sorts of stories about the Jersey Devil. The myth is so popular that New Jersey named it's Hockey team the Devils. He lurks in the pine barrens (The woodsy part of NJ, near where I live) and there's another myth that if you walk down Leeds Road at midnight, he'll appear and kill you. So yeah.
  • I still find Omar to be a kinda funny name for him

  • Aww, thanks, but maybe some people, i dunno, just find me irritating. I find myself irritating, too, high five, peeps.

  • I know, i LOVE these kind of Myths, but i never looked into the records of all the sightings. I watched every vid i could find. I know that the legend says that there was once a woman that got pregnant and her child was deformed, which was not unusual at the said time, and those children were hidden. She hid him in the basement, but he escaped and went feral, and he grew some fur, and he got a horse face, yada yada yada. It's kind of creepy, and, yeah, I LOVE IT WHEN BIGGS KICKS ASS. Those are the best scenes ever, along with when he met "Rachel". I wish we'd see him interact with more children. I love how awkward he is. xD

I'm excited for the Jersey Devil to show up. I've never read the comics, but the Jersey Devil has always been my favorite cryptid.
  • True, but they would be 2 seconds of pure EPICNESS!

  • Can't wait to see what his role is in the game. I remember hearing the story as a kid. Even though I do not live in NJ, it still sent shivers down my spine and forced me to be indoors when the sun went down! Can't wait, Telltale! :D
  • Psht, all about the NCR.

I checked some issues of Jack of Fables and Omar is not the Jersey Devil, but just some camel who walks with two legs. The actual Jersey Devil only appears very briefly in issue #3 of Jack of Fables, in the Golden Boughs Retirement Village, where the forgotten Fables are imprisoned. He doesn't talk and nobody mentions him, he's just a random forgotten Fable who happens to be there.
  • Really? But he sure LOOKS like...

  • You mean Omar? No, he doesn't look like the Jersey Devil at all. He was a Fable that looked like a camel who walked on two legs, and was a soldier in Bookburner's army. He didn't have wings or any monstrous features at all... he even wore clothes.

  • Yeah, but i thought it was the devil, because he DID share similarities. I mean, maybe they made their own version.

Hey, how did you find out about Omar?

    Oh, nevermind.

It's just, i read the comics, i saw him, i heard his name was Omar, i saw he looked a little like the devil without wings, and some other people associated him with the devil, and i saw some other pics, and i was sure that the design was just different.

  • So there's Omar, right next to Bookburner.

And here are the two only appearances of the supposed Jersey Devil. He's in the top right corner of both images. I think it's safe to assume it's him, since the Fable pretty much matches his description:
