Walking Dead 2 PC Win 8.1 and Xbox 360 Controller
I own Walking Dead 2 on Steam and I can't get the game to work with my Xbox 360 Controller.
Controller works fine in windows, steam and other games.
I've tried the numerous fixes about copying dinput8.dll from various places to the Walking Dead game folder, but it does not resolve the issue. I have also verified the game install files (via steam) and ran the DirectX installer from the game folder.
Controller does not do anything in game.
I'm running latest update for Windows 8.1, all OS updates installed.

My apologies, I believe I have accidentally responded on top of your previous comment by editing it! That's a first for me... haha.
Please open the Steam Client and click on Steam at the top left of the window. Then click on Settings from the drop down menu. Then under the Account menu, next to the Beta participation category, click ‘Change…’ and then click on the drop down menu, and click on ‘NONE – Opt out of all beta programs’. Then go back to your Library and start the game, and you should now be able to play with a controller.
The final email from support was that this game does not support the XBOX 360 wireless adapter for PC. I however also have a wired XBOX 360 controller and it doesn't work either.
They were not able to fix the issue and no further help is offered.
Don't buy the game if you're expecting to play with an XBOX 360 controller on your PC.
Please make sure that if you are running Windows 8.1 that you do not have the dinput8.dll file in your file directory, or you will not be able to use the controller in-game.
Wow. Here I was thinking TellTale games didn't suck. Turns out they have support on par with Comcast. Shouldn't have wasted my money on a game assuming that I could use XInput on a game released in 2012, even though Microsoft abandoned DirectInput support officially in 2011...
You should be able to use Xinput in The Walking dead. If you have dinput8.dll manually copied into your file directory, and you are playing on Windows 8.1, the game will not be able to run successfully.
