Okay, Tiny Carlos speaks his thoughts on this "penultimate" episode.
So I fucking bought the game on Steam instead of waiting an extra day.
God damn it. I have a problem.
Anyways. I don't get the hate for this episode. I expected the episode to only be build up for the Finale. Which it kind of was...I recorded it and it took me 80 minutes. Episode 2 was shorter so, it doesn't really matter for me. Anyways, on with my choices.....
-Didn't send Colin to the farm. - Even though Snow and Bigby almost fucking kissed in the kitchen (I think so, at least.) and Colin was being a bitch and basically cockblocked Bigby.
-Just asked her to remove the Ribbon, and she freaked out. - Pretty sure Snow got jealous because Nerissa was grabbing my arm (ooooo yeaaaah)
-Went to the Pawn Shop First - I just picked it because I didn't know really which one to pick.
-Didn't send Toad to the farm, and gave him Crane's money, because fuck Crane.
-Just said 'Fuck it' in the room and sat down and had a nice chat.
Was surprised there was a preview for Episode 5, I thought they'd do another TWD and put a 'OOH FUCK YOU WE'RE NOT PUTTING A PREVIEW BECAUSE FUCK YOU, WAIT WAIT AND WAIT AND CRY AND SCREAM INTERNALLY BECAUSE FUCK YOU BUDDY' So, I was pretty surprised.
I really liked the episode. Let me rank the four.
1. Faith (Great introduction, excellent cliffhanger)
2. A Crooked Mile(Fucking intense as shit, amazing ending)
3. In Sheep's Clothing(Set-up for the big episode 5, abrupt ending)
4. Smoke and Mirrors (Slow-paced, but full of great twist and turns.
So that's it.
Fuck.
Episode 5 better be at least the same length(hopefully a little longer, but I'm not counting on it) It better not be a Telltale tradition to make every Episode 5 super fucking short.
TL;DR - Great episode. Build up for Finale. It was a little bit longer than Episode 2(for me anyways). Abrupt ending. Fuck. Goddamn it, Telltale. Right, sorry. Anyways, FUCK. Not as good as Ep1 or 3, but better than 2.

Take my like Tiny C, I agree. The Episode gets more hate than it deserves.
The main source of hate comes from the length. In the discussion forums for TWAU. I'll give you a brief clue on what you'll see there.

The main opinion on here seems to be that a shorter Episode equals a bad Episode which just isn't the case. I had a great time playing this. I liked 1 and 3 more, but that doesn't mean that 4 was in any way trash.
Yeah, shit was about to get real. The scene was so badass that the Episode couldn't handle the amount of awesomeness and had to cut to black before it went any further.
