Does Anyone Else Think Bluebeard Is Involved?
I realise we don't have too much to go on here, but;
- In Episode 1: You learn that Bluebeard basically can't be trusted
- In Episode 2: Bluebeard could have been using violent methods to punish Dee for letting himself get caught (he was seen with The Crooked Man in Episode 4)
- In Episode 3: Bluebeard tampers with a lot of evidence (determent) in Crane's apartment
- In Episode 4: Jack knows that the mirror has been broken, and there are only a handful of people who could have spread this (Bluebeard, Bufkin, Snow White, Bigby, Crane))
I know it seems unfair to point fingers at the moment, but I have a feeling that Bluebeard is working for The Crooked Man, by means of;
- Supplying information about the Business Office and its current issues (e.g. The Magic Mirror being broken then repaired)
- Purposefully tampering with evidence
- Either attempting to become Deputy Mayor of Fable Town (to expand on The Crooked Man's control), or distract Snow White and Bigby with meaningless affairs.
Again, it's just a theory. Let me know what you all think.

Probably.
There has to be some reason he would burn a room full of evidence beyond "Mwahaha, I'm an asshole! Inconvenient, huh Bigby?"
I think he's nothing but an opportunist. He probably isn't involved but he's looking for gains while people are busy with this whole mess.
No.That would be too obvious
Some things in a story have to. You can't expect crazy twists about every single suspect, and I'm expecting quite a deal from many assholes already.
I've always been suspect of Bluebeard.
B-Beard could be involved. Usually in these types of situations, people tend to always blame the rich, posh people of a community such as this, and for good reason. So yeah, he must be leaking info to Crooky, among other things.
I think he was just trying to slow down Bigby`s investigation, but he might give informations to The Crooked Man too.
I don't think he's involved, I just think he's a hot headed mess. He continuously funds the business, even though he dislike snow running the show. and his name wasn't present on that chalk board at the Butcher's shop. If Blue Beard is involved I'd think he would be a major player in CM's crew, given all that money he has. Heck I think he would've found a way to become the head of fable town already with CM's support. Blue Beard is over the top, but I can't believe he's involved.
Those are good, valid points.
Again, mine was simply a theory based on little things he says and does, but we'll wait and see.
I guess you
re right. He only cares about his money and status, he doesn
t need more power.Good points. I think he definitely has something to hide/knows more than he lets on but don't necessarily think he's involved.
However with your last point, Crane was the one that smashed the mirror so he's probably had to tell Mary (and she can tell she's being watched when the mirror is fixed and casts some sort of sharp pain on it for a split second.) and she may have mentioned that in the lucky pawn which Jack overheard. I mean if Mary knows, it's likely the crooked man and the rest of his crew know to..
I actually think The Crooked Man is working for Bluebeard. My suspicion is that he's trying to gain control of the Business Office, and his way of doing that was to expose Crane's unsavory habits and take advantage of the chaos that would ensue. The photos that Bigby found in the hotel room were far too convenient to have been left there by accident, and Bluebeard is very clearly attempting to destroy evidence in The Crooked Mile. Furthermore, the scrutiny that would come from two back-to-back murders of prostitutes in similar circumstances is obviously going to be very bad for the Crooked Man's business. This is not a risk that a crime lord would take unless there was something larger at work.
Honestly i think he's just like the Tweedles, dispatched to do dirty work.
He can be caught threatening Beauty&Beast to hand in their debt if you don't choose to let Beast take the call, the voicemal has him red handed.
He's about the only one in the crew of thugs that gets let into the business office to discuss matters, so that's probably his specialty.
I don't think he's anything more important than the other baddies though.
I doubt it. He is too busy pushing buttons and aggravating everyone around him. He reminds me of that person you grew up with that always had to have the last word. Think he's too damn worried about money and his problems to care.
Wait... that was Blue Beard?? I totally didn't even recognize the voice.
I don't think it was him... but I don't know who was it either...
Well it does say in his bio that "he swears his days of decapitating brides are over" which is something to ponder. I'm definately suspicious of him, but perhaps that's what they want you to think? Who knows. I think I'd actually be more surprised if he had nothing to do with it at all.
Bluebeard basically funnels money into Fabletown for its economic prosperity. Even if he is not the mayor, he has some leverage of the inner working of the community. Why would Bluebeard work under the thumb of CM?
Fair point. As someone stated earlier, it's probably more likely (if anything) the other way around (CM doing BB's bidding).
Something about him does seem off to me, I just can't really make out what it is. Maybe he's too confident with everything.
Idk why, but when Bigby spoke with Nerissa and she said to look out for your friends and Bigby asked if his friends could be involved I actually got the feeling that Snow might be involved as well and she is just deviously hiding it. I know in the comic book shes a recurring character, but idk if TTG has to be consistent.
Thanks. I knew I was missing something in the last point, but I couldn't put my fingers on what it was. I've edited the post, and I agree that it's a possibility that Crane told them about the Magic Mirror, but in TWAU, nothing is certain until proven.
You all got it wrong . If Bluebeard is involved , the crooked man is working for him and not the other way around . I believe he is involved but we will only be able to know and not do something about it because Bluebeard is in the comics
Nope, Bluebeard's subtitle colour is red, and the caller's was orange, which is a colour nobody we've met so far has.
Although I don't believe Bluebeard is involved, the Crooked Man's place looks an awful lot like his own castle, which is glamoured kinda like the Business Office, a big area in a very small space. That may just be because they're both from the Old World and have similar architecture though.
If Fable's were to really exist, they would definitely be living in IKEA. I just thought I'd put that out there.
