"These lips are sealed." something people may already came up with..
This is my first post in this forum which CONTAINS SPOILERS for E4.
So we all know that the girls at the Pudding n Pie can't talk about certain things when Bigby asks them regarding the investigations. The sentence, "These lips are sealed." is the only thing they can say. It's already been said that a spell was cast on them. Some people may already think that it's the ribbons that are tied to their necks. After E4, it's been proven. When Nerissa visits Bigby and after their conversation, he gets that it's her ribbon that silences her and if you choose to try and take it off, she will give you a really scared reaction and will tell you to stay away.
So I think that the ribbons may be the cause of Faith and Lilly being decapitated. If they either tried to tell something they're not supposed to or take dem ribbons off, then it would trigger the spell and automatically cut off their heads. When Nerissa asks Bigby if he likes her ribbon, she had this sad expression like she's not liking the thing at all.
The question is, who's the person responsible for putting those ribbons on those girls? Fuck if I know. We'll know soon. Anyway, this is just a theory. Maybe an obvious one. Opinions and other theories are welcomed. ^_^

The one who put the ribbons on them is probably The Crooked Man, so that they won`t spill any secrets. Now we can be pretty sure that the ribbon is the thing that killed them.
well we saw mary use magic on the mirror and putting on an evil curse that will chop your head of sounds like something she would do
This seems kind of odd, but what if the ribbons tied around their neck hold their head together? Like if they couldn't pay their debts, the Woodsman axe or another magical equipment would chop their head off. Then the ribbons would be enchanted and tied around their neck would ressurect them so long as they wear it, thus their entire life is in debt to the Crooked Man.
Alongside this what they say is also controlled as it also travels through the throat, and the ribbon could act as a barrier in the vocal chord which prevents them from saying anything, or changes what they say (They mean to say "Yes" but the ribbon changes it so they say "My lips are sealed).
So if you remove the ribbon then their head falls off and thus they are "decapitated".
Nice theory ^_^ And it's not that odd. It's possible.
^^^^ That's what I thought after playing this ep. Isn't there a story about that; this girl wore a green ribbon I believe and if she took it off she would lose her head?I'm assuming that is what did it. Makes me wonder what they did or TRIED to say for them to get killed. Obviously the Crooked Man is using them for something.
If you tell snow that Nerissa couldn't say anything because of the spell, and then bigby says it the ribbon, and that's how the prostitutes were being killed, and he does a slicing motion on his neck, so they made it pretty obvious there. (That may not have been how that exactly goes but I can't remember it exactly :P)
When Snow asks how did Bigby's talk with Nerissa go, if you pick the option "magic prevents her from speaking", he states it himself that removing the ribbon would result in her losing her head, that being how Faith and Lily died.
It's funny that Snow seems surprised but neither of them go any further into the matter. To me they should immediately go after Georgie as we know that the girls using the magic ribbons all work under him. (He having two of his employees murdered should have been more than an implication to turn his ass in for an "interview" in the basement).
To me the ribbons are both holding their already decapitated heads magically together and their lips sealed (I theorized that from ep.1), so there's no way for them to find a way around the lips spell and they feel completely at mercy of the people who forced them into it. Georgie, Vivian (probably) and/or The Crooked Man are involved.
Beauty is the next in line. Tweedle's file on her have notes saying "Gerogie has an interest" and "wait for the CM to give the ok". Debt is the way to the ribbon, and the ribbon is the way into prostitution.
Lol, you said that so much better than me. P
That`s probably the case.
Well, these lips are sealed but their hands aren't sealed, why don't they just write down what's happening? REMEMBER ONLY LIPS ARE SEALED NOT FINGERS HAHAHAAHAHAA.
But guys, straight after that scene, you go to Beauty about 'Financial assistance', and when you finish talking to her, you find out she was in debt for the crooked man, so if all these theories are right (^^^) then Beauty is screwed!
Lol, your comment wasn't there when I wrote mine down. That was awkward. XD
Well it's been made obvious that the ribbon is what caused the death of Faith and Lilly (question on is why them and who did it).
What I was wondering is what could break the spell. Both Faith and Nerissa asked "do you like it?" regarding the ribbon. They asked it the same way. Maybe this is how it can get off without killing them? Maybe that's the only way, if you give a specific answer to that question.
The ribbon probably does kill them. But in these two incidences, someone knowingly removed the ribbon and wanted to send a message to the gov't body.
I think Bigby actually flat-out said that the ribbon caused Faith and Lily to die, depending on the circumstances.
Agreed. I think it's the Crooked Man too. The only other possibility, in my opinion, is if there is a surprise villain who is even more powerful than the Crooked man. I mean, if it turns out that the Crooked man isn't the one really running things, that he just works for some more powerful King or Queen or something. At this point though, it seems like the Crooked Man is probably as high as it goes. I'm curious what's going on with King Cole. Does the Crooked Man have him captive? We haven't heard anything about him in awhile. I suppose that's a topic for another thread though.
That's not a weird theory at all. There's a scary story called "The Red Ribbon" about a girl whose head comes off when she removes a ribbon from her neck. That story could definitely fit into the Fable world. Since the first episode that scary story has been in the back of my mind every time I see those ribbons.
Yes^ it's a brother's grimm story I think, people have talked about it on here before.
King Cole is probably somewhere else at the moment, maybe negociating with other Fables communities.
He did, if you choose to tell Snow about the magic.
Haha, it's cool. These things happen. :P
I'm pretty sure that the Crooked man controls all (Georgie,JerseyDevil and the Tweedles are just puppets imo) but i think that the ribbons were made by Mary(or commissioned by her). She's a sadist and she has a sort of attraction for decapitation (eg: on bigby in ep3)
But who knows? I am suspicious about everything and everyone (even Bufkin xD)...i only trust my big bad wolf.
