TWD Season 2 Save Problem
Hi, I'm having a problem with my saves for season 2. Here's what happened in order:
- I started Episode 3
- I noticed Alvin was alive even though I could have sworn he died at the end of the last episode. When I watched the recap a few days ago, I saw him die in the recap (I was about to play, but couldn't, so I stopped the game right after watching the recap). This time though, he was alive.
- I backed out to the Main Menu to check my choices, and I did not have a final choice made for Episode 2 anymore
- I figured maybe somehow my saves got messed up. I've got Windows File History backing up my documents to my Apple Time Capsule, so I went into File History
- I went back a couple weeks and restored the save folder to the exact state it was in on May 6
- I checked the folder, and a bunch of checkpoint files and other data files dated January 2 (when I beat Episode 1) and April 19 (when I beat Episode 2) were there, so I figured I was a-okay
- However, when I started the game, now I had no progress whatsoever for Episode 2. Only episode 1.
I tried restoring from May 24, May 6, and April 19 in file history, all after completing Episode 2, but the same problem persists. Only episode 1 progress is shown.
I looked through other posts and tried disabling Steam Cloud, removing prefs.prop... the issue persists. It always loads with me having completed Episode 1 and that's it. I'm at a loss for what to do other than replaying Episode 2 and trying to remember exactly what choices I made.
I uploaded a copy of my TWD S2 save folder as it existed the evening after I beat Episode 2 from File History to my Dropbox here: Season 2 Saves

I apologize for the inconvenience. Below are a few possible solutions:
1) Ensure you have the latest drivers for both your graphics card, and your computer’s BIOS
2) Restart your system
3) Unplug your gamepad (and all other USB devices other than keyboard/mouse) and plug in headphones to the audio out jack.
4) Verify your cache if you purchased through Steam (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335)
5) Run the game as admin
6) Run the game in compatibility mode (right click on game, click properties, click compatibility tab , and we recommend running the game in Windows 98/ME ) (We recommend Windows 98/ME)
7) Reinstall the game
8) Make sure that the Steam application is not set to a compatibility mode (right click on steam and click properties, then check compatibility, and make sure that it is not checked to play in a different OS)

FYI, I decided to just replay episode 2. If I can provide any information to document what caused this little bug though, I'd be happy to.
After looking over your support tool, there doesn't seem to be any issues inside your file structure. My only other suggestion would be to make sure that you are watching the credits all the way through at the end of Episode 2, and are not exiting out of the game before they end, as this is when your final choices are being saved in the game.
