Any spinoff Fables comics I can buy that won't spoil TWAU for me?

Ever since The Wolf Among Us hit the 'store' and after playing it for the first time I have been very intrigued by this universe that Will Bingham has created and have been dying to read the much praised comics. I've been patient for about half a year now waiting for the game episodes to end so that I can finally delve into the comics, but now with summer her and myvacation started I find myself with too much free time and can't wait anymore for the last episode.

So without wanting to have the comics spoiled however since TWAU is a prequel, are there any of the spin off comics I could read in the mean time without getting spoiled? Would be greatly appreciated.

  • I think you can read 1001 nights os snowfall without getting spoiled.

  • Thanks for the comment, are there any other than Snowfall?

  • It depends on what you deem a "Spoiler". If it's what characters are not in the comics vs characters that are in the comics, you shouldn't read any comics till the game ends. I personally don't think the comics spoil anything for me at all, since I've read every issue. Of course, it does change my suspect list a bit (Again, because of canon and noncanon chacacters) But it most definitely doesn't spoil a thing. If anything, it enhances the gameplay and makes it so much more enjoyable, since you're seeing some of your favorite characters deal with a unique situation never before encountered in the comics. I still have no clue who the killer would be, although we can most certainly guess that the Crooked Man hired whoever to kill those young women (Actually, they LOOK young, they're really a few hundred years old like all of the other Fables that live in Fabletown...) I dunno. I guess it's a matter of preference. Reading the comics might also altar the way you approach situations, knowing the true way the character (Meaning Bigby) would actually react. I like that the game tailors itself to both nonreaders and avid readers of the comics. That way its unique to everyone and enjoyable no matter what. So, I hope my little blurb helped in some way, shape, or form.

  • Having read to issue 8 or so i can conclude that the comics are not spoiling anything. Actually cant believe that i am reading comics again.

  • Agree with this. It's about stuff that happens before the game.

The comic itself won't spoil anything, but it will rule some theories of what may occur.

  • Thanks for the reply. It probably isn't such a bad idea to read them now, but I think I'm gonna stay in the "safe side" and try to stomach a month of so of waiting, considering I did survive half a year so a month shouldn't be that hard. That way when I replay the game after having read the comics I might have another perspective when playing it.

No, read them now. It won't spoil anything and it will make you think of the characters as real people instead of game characters.

Actually, I don't think any of the game characters are even in the comix except Bigby, Snow, Bluebeard, Beauty, beast, and the pig. Probably the sleeping desk guy in the lobby, too. The only possible spoiler is that none of them die in the game.
