I agree 100%. I'm so excited! The Wolf Among Us is my favorite series done by TellTale so far, and I believe they will deliver a great conclusion.

Just because it was ok for someone's kid to be allowed to play a violent game not meant for their age does not mean it is fine for everyone and inciting or promoting such behaviour is wrong.

The ESRB's ratings are not legally binding under U.S. law, but there have been several attempts at both the state and federal levels to pass bills that would make it illegal for retailers to sell video games which are not rated by ESRB, or to sell games rated M or AO to minors. However, such laws have been declared unconstitutional per the Supreme Court case Brown v. Entertainment Merchants Association—concerning a 2005 California law banning the sale of "violent video games", defined using a variation of the Miller test that is separate to the ESRB rating, to those under 18. The court ruled that states could not pass laws to restrict the sale of video games to minors, as they are considered a protected form of expression under the First Amendment.

  • ESRB ratings don't have legal standing but nonetheless most stores have rules wherein you cannot purchase a game unless you show valid ID.
Try sending a 12 year old in Walmart to buy GTA V. He'll be sent back empty handed.

  • Laws are not always correct. They get amended quite a lot. There are reasons why laws like this are place and there are also reasons why its very rarely enforced.

Besides its only illegal for stores to sell to minors, if a parent chooses to buy a game and give it to their child (as is what probably happens with most of children on here) then that's their decision and who are you to say its wrong? IIRC there isn't a lot of psychological evidence to suggest its as bad as the media likes to think.

  • You are correct on the point that there is a reason why such rules are in place. Incorrect in saying they are not enforced. If an employee of a shop that sells videogames sells inappropriate games to underaged players, I am certain that can be used as grounds for termination of his employment.
As far as parents being choosing games for their kids most of the time, that is true. Statistics show that at least ~93% of parents approve a game before their kids buy it, at least when you talk about buying a physical copy.
Purchasing games online is a whole different deal though and is not monitored as effectively, so assuming that most underaged players here are here with their parents consent, and that their parents agree with statements made in defence of them playing games meant for mature audiences is a little to much to just assume.

  • Why am I worried that Cry Wolf will be out before Amid The Ruins? This shouldn't even be a possibility.

  • This shouldn't make any difference. Would you want them to hold TWAU from us if TWD had production problems? Like TWAU had after ep1. Same brand but different products and different teams. Making a habit of taking much longer than a month to release an episode is worse for business than any ideal schedule.

Why am I worried that Cry Wolf will be out before Amid The Ruins? This shouldn't even be a possibility.

  • Because it shows a general lack of care for TWD fans. Like: "Hey, we know TWD is our most popualr series by a lot, but we're gonna delay it for TWAU" and even if it isn't delayed, it brings up the question of why they got it done before Amid The Ruins. sounds like some bad resource management.

Lack of care? TWD has 2 seasons, the biggest gap between episodes (3 months) was still smaller than the biggest gap between TWAU episodes (4 months), it didn't undergo the overhaul of the entire script (thank God that Telltale was still able to come up with a fantastic story, despite those changes) and TWD still maintains the 1.5hr episode mark while the latest episode of TWAU was supposedly barely over one hour (for many players; I can speak for myself that it did not affect my playthrough that much), besides - without the 4-month-wait, the TWAU season would be over by now. If anything, TWAU fans should be the ones to complain; thankfully, the majority of us is patiently waiting.

I am not bashing TWD fans. I understand both sides as I play both games, but we should stop accusing both games for the delays. If it helps TWD fans, the chance that TWAU will get Season 2 is very slim (although I hope that I'm wrong on that one), while TWD will probably receive Season 3. Tell me how is that supposed to be Telltale's lack of care for TWD fans.
