That Garsh Darn Ribbon!

"Do you like it?..." Both Faith and Nerissa said. I wonder if this ribbon, the more compliments it gets, the spell will break?! I'm probably being stupid about this.

No! no, I actually thought that when Nerissa asked me in the office. Or, it could lead them to their death a lot closer, the more times you reply with a comment....

  • I said it truly was beautiful, even though it is monstrous. Maybe, I hope not! Thanks for the reply!

    No problem.

I said it was 'beautiful' the first time with Faith...not so much with Nerissa.

  • I was kinda rude to Faith and said "Stop changing the subject." to protect her. But seeing her head on that stair... Just made me cry. That is one of the reasons I truly love this game. One day we can be here... the next day we could be gone. I've been kind to all the other characters the best way that I could (even though I burned Greenleaf's tree; she made me believe Snow was dead!). And now poor Nerissa. She deserves the best. She has lost everything except for her crappy job.

  • No. Both times it was said because the girl wanted to "help" Bigby get closer to finding the truth. Since they can't say anything explicit about the ribbon. It would be cool to find out in Episode 5 what happens when a ribbon is taken off or a spell is broken on one.

  • The ribbons are the murder weapon i think. My idee is that when someone removes them, it kills the wearer. Thats why they coudnt identify what cut the head of the body both times (Faith's and Lily's body inspesion both say the cut is odd and clean i believe, not from an ordinary knife)

  • You know, I think the ribbons and the decapitation are a reference to the creepy story of the Girl with the Green Ribbon. You guys should go check it out. Completely creeped me out when I saw the connection.

We already know, if you tell Snow that Nerissa mentioned the ribbons then Bigby comments that removing it is what killed Faith and Lily, basically, removing it removes the head. Most likely taken from "Yellow Ribbon", an American folk lore story; http://americanfolklore.net/folklore/2009/08/the_yellow_ribbon.html

  • If that is true, I feel like that would make for an very epic/ memorable death in the game . . . still would like to see what happens

  • I think it's their way of pointing that the ribbon is the thing controlling their speech.

Seems exactly like it. Except it's not green.
