Episode 4 gone
Several months ago I purchased the entire season 1 walking dead series and have been playing it as I have time. Yesterday I was playing episode 4 and I save at part 5 medicine. When I tried to play the game today there was my saved game but when I opened it I could not continue to play because it said I need to "get" (buy) the episode. I tried shutting it down, copying the save and reopening it but I keep getting the same result. I want to finish the game but don't want to have to pay for an episode I already purchased. What can be done to fix this?

Again, apologies for any inconvenience you have experienced.
It does not say buy, it says get. Restoring is not an option, only option I get is to install it, but since it is already installed, I cannot install it again. Since it is considered as not installed, I cannot delete it. I know it sounds confusing but thats what is happening. Episode 4 is simply gone.
Looks like that the only way to fix it is to lose all the save game and reinstall the whole thing. Thanks telltale, you have managed to make a game that is more trouble than its worth. First purchase problems, then restore problems then downloading problems and now, installed episodes simply go missing.
Can you please clarify the exact error message when you tap the 'Get' button next to Episode 4 in the Episodes Menu? If it says 'Get' it should allow you to download/install it. If you already have it installed, it should alert you that it already is installed, and allow you to play the episode. If you do receive an error message, can you please clarify exactly what is says?
It gives the connection lost message.
This is what happened. I was playing episode 4. Then I quit the game. Next time I tried to play from my save, the play option was gone. Instead I had get option. Going to the main menu, I found that episode 4 was not installed anymore. It says purchased with a get option, When I press it, it starts downloading and shows 0.00% (note, not 0%, which it says when actual download starts) then after a while, connection lost error message pops up. Fact is, it shouldn't even try to download because its already installed. I cannot delete it because the software does not register it as installed. And I cannot reinstall it because of this error, which I assume is due to the fact that it is actually installed.
I uninstalled the whole game and restored purchase, now I can download it again without any problems. But apparently the developers did not think of putting a dialog box asking whether I want to keep save files or not. Hence all files lost and I still am not sure whether this problem will persist in the future or not and thus cannot decide whether to download again or not. I am really disappointed.
I apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately your save files are stored within the base application of the game, and deleting the app, will delete your save files along with it. We have not heard of this particular issue occurring before. I will make sure to pass the information you provided, along to the team for further investigation.
I am having the exact same problem on my iPad. Please help. I've lost 2 chapters of episode 4 (which I had made a copy of in my saved games) but my saved game list reverted to what it looked like before I did that. I made a save copy before I went to Crawford, but it's not there.
Same issue with same message as above. Please help. I really love this game.
Could you please clarify if you recently updated your device, or made any alterations/installed any new apps on it? Also when you last exited/closed out of the game application, if you did so during an autosaving or loading sequence that particular save file may have become corrupted. Also, which episodes are asking you to purchase them again?
