The talk between Nerissa and Bigby in Bigby's office couldn't be fake.

"Sometimes... We have to find our way through life on our own. Grasping and fumbling in the dark. I... I used to have friends. To help me find my way. But now... They're gone. And I don't know what to do. What I'm saying is friends matter. And I... I don't have any left. So I hope you're looking after yours."

If Faith could fake this moment which is full of emotion, then I'm really afraid of her!

  • Those words are just as true for Faith as they are for Nerissa.

  • No one has a theory that Nerissa is cold and calculating and set up her friends to die on purpose. Some do have that theory about Faith glamoured as Nerissa.

Even if it was Faith and she did set Lilly and Nerissa up to die (a theory that I don't really buy into), it doesn't necessarily mean that she wouldn't feel bad about it or that she wouldn't miss her friends to some extent. Unless she was just always a sociopath I guess, but her actions towards Lawrence would suggest otherwise.

Nerissa sure is either a very sweet victim that accidentally got involved with the wrong people. Or Nerissa is a very effective mastermind who for motives unknown manipulated not only Bigby but also the entire Fabletown community.

First let's try to get to the fact with the things we know:

There were 2 murders (unless you've murdered a few more Fables as Bigby... no one is perfect).

The first Victim is either Faith or someone else glamoured as Faith, as we did have only the head , not the body and were not able to get the result from the autopsy.

Additionally we know that even if the head is severed the glamour holds if the trinket/charm is with the body as we see it for the second victim)

The second victim is Lilly the ogre who was glamoured as Snow white at the time of death.

The magic mirror refuses to show us Faith.

the magic mirror never shows us Nerissa.

Nerissa refuses to remove her ribbon after Vivian's death.

Then things we do not know at this point:

    Why was Faith murdered.

    Why was Lily murdered.

    when was Faith murdered.

Who was with Lily when she was murdered.

    Who murdered Faith.

    who murdered Lilly.

If Faith was already dead when chapter one starts.

Which of the victims was killed first.

The crooked man involvement in the murders.

Georgie involvement in the murders (despite the witnesses and himself admitting it he is not very sharp and could have been manipulated as well or simply be lying for other motives).

Whether Nerissa is who she claims to be.

things that we can suspect although we do not have any evidence.

-Nerissa brought victim number one's head to the Woodlands (she admits it)

-Nerissa is lying about seeing the Croocked man ordering Georgie to murder of both Faith and Lilly (she admits it).

-Nerissa is charmed as Faith at the beginning of chapter one at the woodman's apartment.

-Nerissa is Lying about her involvement in the murders.

-Vivian is the original girl with the ribbon (she says it and does not have any obvious reason to lie).

    -Gerogie killed both victims

-Twiddledee and Tweedledum got rid of lily's body and TJ saw them.

    Main plausible theories:

Evil Faith (the one I go for):

Faith steals the photo of Crane and blackmails the Crooked man.

Crooked Man orders Georgie to dispose of Lilly to erase proof and Faith for blackmailing him which Nerissa finds out.

The sweet Nerissa tells Faith that Georgie killed lily and that he is going to kill her.

Faith has Nerissa glamoured as herself and killed by Georgie in her place. Either by manipulating/threatning/fighting with Nerissa.

Faith is herself at the Beginning of the Story.

Faith involves Bigby by posing Nerissa's glamoured head at the woodlands.

From that point on she assumes Nerissa's identity (remember "Nerissa's story never had a happy ending.") and makes sure bibgy goes in the direction she wants him to go.

She is still glamoured as Nerissa at the end of Season1 and got her revenge on the crooked man and georgie.

    Mastermind Nerissa:

Nerissa glamours herself as faith steals the photo of Crane then blackmails the Crooked man. Or it is actually Faith who has that Birlliant idea on her own.

Crooked Man orders Georgie to dispose of Lilly to erase proof and faith for blackmailing him.

Nerissa uses that opportunity to involve Bibgy and there fore has herself charmed as Faith when the story begins to get his attention.

Later that Night Nerissa drops the glamour and leaves Faith's head at the woodland.

And you know the rest of the story.

    About the Ribbon:

she does not take it but there must be a reason for it.

-I do not believe it is because of a sentimental reason.

-I do not believe it is because it is glamour(Lily had no issues removing her clothes when she was glamoured as Snow White)

    Possible theories:

-she is still under the ribbon spell and would die if she removes it. Trouble is if the ribbon is working she should not be able to accuse the crooked man like she does in chapter 5:

So ..her ribbon is different from the other girls => she is the original ribbon girl or the original ribbon girl is not dead (and was not vivian) or let you imagination go wild there is really no hint as to why is that that I can figure....

  • all good shit, but it was so freakin long I didn't read all of it, but still all great!

Actually, her not taking off the ribbon for 'sentimental' (I use that word loosely) reasons makes a lot of sense.

We can guess that she's been working at the Pudding n' Pie for a long time. All those years, she's been wearing this ribbon, keeping her from speaking her mind, knowing that taking it off would instantly kill her.

Imagine living with that for so long. With the knowledge that even accidentally untying it will end you, once and for all. Imagine witnessing so many unjust things and never being able to stop it. Imagine having your freedom completely taken away from you.

If then, one day, the thing that holds you back looses its effects...could you just let go? That ribbons has quite literally been the one thing keeping her alive all this time. God knows I would hesitate to take it off, if only because my subconsciousness would always keep screaming 'What ifs' at me.

  • I would have agreed to that if I wasn't so suspicious of Nerissa's motives. Too many things seem off about her for me to believe she is a sentimental person. but then again you are right. There is no proof.

  • Well, a voice actor managed to fake it, so why couldn't Faith? She's not real after all, the emotion behind all her.words are essentially fake.

  • We never meet the real faith, at least not while she's alive. Nerissa is the wolf in sheeps clothing, she cried wolf to everyone. Nerissa did what she and her friends planned, to get free from control, even at the ultimate cost (their lives) to show the corruption of fable town. Because otherwise it would have kept on unnoticed (like gren reminds us, and the lack of searching when lily was reported missing). The shit had to literally land on the doorstep of the woodlands to get noticed.
