There was a lot of blood, though the chin incident hurt more when it came to removing the sticky plastic thing they used to glue it together… more - the skin was too thin for stitches. I had to use a lot of hot water to make it peel. I did have to have stitches below my lip when my dog, in her excitement, jumped up and teared it open a little. Again a lot of blood, and again I still have the scar! None of these are particularly heroic injuries though haha
LEMME FINISH YOUNG WOMAN!!!
Anyway, previously on The Walking Cool Story
One time I logged onto the forum.
I ate some ramen and read this comment while drinking coke.
I laughed at Impalala's comment.
After I logged into the forum I started a discussion. Were there comments? DID I GET LIKES ON MY COMMENTS?!?!?!?! DID ANYONE PM ME!??!?!?!?!?!? DID A COOL PERSON MENTION ME IN THE FORUMS!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!??! to be continued.
THAT INFAMOUS "COMING SOON" LABEL. C'MON YOU'RE A WALKING DEAD FAN, YOU KNOW HOW TORTUROUS THAT IS. WHY TORTURE YOUR FELLOW TORTUREES WITH THAT RIGHT AFTER WE ALL WAITED FOR THAT EPISODE WITH THAT SAME PROBLEM. TRAITOR. TRADER. POKEMON CARD TRADER. HOW DARE YOU.
I just won 25 dollars and I was planning on buying The Wolf Among Us today. Today IS SO FREAKING LUCKY. First we went to the bank to cash in my check but that didn't work because we need new bank accounts but we're too young to do anything about it. So, after that I GOT MY GOOD LUCK BACK AGAIN AND MY PUPPY ALMOST FELL OUT THE CAR WINDOW BUT SHE DIDN'T AND THEN I WON 25 DOLLARS.
We can only hope. This story deserves it's own forum website. But, all we can do is start a DISCUSSION ABOUT IT! Too bad. Anyway THIS IS THE PLACE WHERE ONLY THE COOL KIDS ARE ALLOWED. BEWARE.
Not a funny story, but an interesting twist of fate. Kinda long, sorry.
I was on the Cross Country team in high school. In the pre-season, we usually ran a 3-4 mile loop around town for practice. We live in a small community, so the roads are usually pretty safe...or so we thought. One day, my running buddy and I were about 3/4's of the way done with the loop, when we crossed an ordinary looking intersection. I glanced over and didn't see any cars coming, so I went to cross, under the assumption that I would've heard it coming anyway, I was wrong. Some asshole in a hybrid blew past the stop sign, going way over the speed limit. I just barely managed to avoid getting hit; it was so close that the side of the car actually scraped up my hand.
We laughed it off and chalked it up to a lucky break. The coaches....not so much. They played the blind card against me and said that I couldn't be trusted to cross streets safely, despite my friend vouching that there was no way I could have seen or heard it coming. They decided to blame me, instead of the driver. They made me run other routes and had people 'keep an eye on me.' It was insulting, and I eventually quit a year or two later for that reason.
Anyway, we met up in the spring for an off-season run. A girl on our team made the mistake of listening to music while running. She wound up getting hit by a car at the same exact intersection and died almost instantly. Her brother was a teammate and friend, so it was pretty awful for everyone involved. The only silver lining is that it made me realize how fragile life can be (not to mention how goddamn lucky I was). I like to think that it made me appreciate life a little more and become a more cautious, responsible person.

I'm sorry that happened to you. Don't be sorry about posting it here either. This forum is for all different kinds of stories! My twin sister was actually hit by a car because she was listening to music as well, but it was minor. It really does make you think about your choices and how you are not indestructible, like you said. Glad you chose to share this!

Alright, so I just did some research, and it turns out that they aren't exactly Emperors, but kings and viscomtes and dukes. But, an Emperor, in the classical sense, is basically a Roman euphemism for King.
Anyway, I've got Alfonso VI of Leon and Castille, Imperator totius Hispaniae, Emperor of Spain. I also have plenty of French counts, mostly in Brittany, (quite a few from the House of Rohan), a Cornish noble (Percival something), and some others I'm not too sure about.

Hey, thanks. It sucked, but that's just life sometimes. Good people die for all kinds of stupid reasons. I still have the scar on my hand from when the car grazed me. It's a nice reminder of the lesson I learned.
Also, what is it with sisters wandering into oncoming traffic. My sister got hit while talking to my mom on the phone. Actually, it was more of a love tap, since the car was moving slowly at the time. Still bruised the hell out of her leg though. I'm the oblivious, blind one that people always worried about and she's the one who gets hit by a car. She's a blonde, so maybe that has something to do with it. :P

I have to say that that's some pretty impressive ancestry. Can you trace them from one side of your family or both? I.e. does your relation to Alfonso VI come from your maternal side, and the French counts or Cornish noble from your paternal, or is it all through one parent?
Where do you live? If you don't mind me asking - just in a general sense of city or something. I'm curious to see where some of the lines have ended up.

Sprained an ankle and got road rash on both legs. Still has scars from it. She wasn't able to walk for a while. It was the scariest thing that ever happened to me when I heard about it.
*EDIT I had to urge to run to where she was cause I'm always "saving" her ass, but mom told me to stay where I was. One time when we were little this shelf almost fell on us but I caught it. My sister Leigh came in and said "Gees, guys, you look like you've seen a ghost." We both looked ridiculous LOL. This other time she went down the street and fell off her bike. I heard her calling so I sprinted down the street. She sprained her wrist and was too hurt to walk. So I walked her and the bike home. Wow. She's so high maintenance. But that's what I give her for being the kid who gives people water when they're sick and takes care of them. When she was little she thought water cured everything, haha! (Kaela if you're reading this you suck. A lot. And you're ugly.)

Nope, they circle around it, I think. The route still crosses the street, but now it's somewhere with better visibility (for drivers and pedestrians). There's also a strict "no music" rule.
I'm a big supporter of he bill requiring hybrid/electric cars to make engine noises. Silent cars are cool in theory, but people who rely on hearing to safely cross streets don't stand much of a chance.

The funny part is that she was on the phone, so my mom heard a thump and my sister was like "OH MY GAWD A CAR HIT MEEE!" It was scary at the time (this was a few months after my friend's sister died), but it was pretty funny in hindsight.
I had to get on the phone and do remote first aid (Where does it hurt? Are you bleeding? etc.). She was blubbering so much I could barely understand her. When I knew she was going to be okay, I called her an idiot and told her to treat the leg with ice until she could get it looked at. End result was a nasty bone bruise, which is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Thankfully the driver was going at like 10mph tops.
A few days later, my mom made the mistake to telling the story to my grandpa (he has slight dementia). Next thing we knew, worried calls were flooding in from that side of the family. Apparently, Papap decided to tell everyone that "Margo was hit by a car" without mentioning that she was alright. Thanks, gramps. [facepalm]
does your relation to Alfonso VI come from your maternal side, and the French counts or Cornish noble from your paternal, or is it all through one parent?
They are both through my paternal grandmother and grandfather; said grandmother has this huge long pedigree going back to there on ancestry.com, which is the source I'm taking.

Hopefully such a thing will be prevented in the future by the better visibility and no music.
I totally agree with you that hybrid/electric cars should be required to make engine noises. There are enough incidents with combustion engine cars - vehicles without noise are just lethal. The people driving them probably aren't going to do so any differently than a regular car, so the sound they make is important for the pedestrian.

The internet: when will it not prove useful? Anyway, that's some lineage you can be pleased with, and this might be the closest I've got to talking to royalty from any era. Interesting stuff, too - thanks for sharing!

I actually found out that my American dad is more European than the average European. He is literally 98% European. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN.

What? How is that possible?
PLEASE DON'T TELL ME THIS IS THE SEASON FINALE.
Exactly. I have no idea LOL
Yesterday I took a sip of my water only to find out that there was a dead bug in it.
Episode 4 is coming... SOOON
Man... that's weird.
Where did they rule over?
I do have a streak of grey hair and I'm not old! That makes me more badass! Right?!
Oscar worthy!
Even though we've just finished episode 3, is there going to be a second season?
