Telltale, you have made one of the best games of this century and I mean it. Please, please, please release episode 4 on Android already so everyone would be happy. I would even take back all the bad things I've said about you because I still love your games. Just do it and make sure never to screw up again with your Android fans. Nobody needs to forget that you screwed the $h! + out of us. But I'm sure that we can all forget the past and forgive you. I'm willing

  • I just want to start BT saying I created an account just for this. You guys are fantastic! You guys made me buy an app on google store. You made me, for the first time of my life, buy a game that is not completely out.. I've never even pre ordered... Not even GTA V... But shit you screwed me up. I've read about half the comments before even creating my username, and I have by now understood you will most certainly not reply. But I got to let you know, I've never been upset like that... And its not the first time I wait because of a device. I'm not a programmer, but I did a little bit of it in school. My dad used to build computers back in the 90's and my brother is a crack. I usually get it. But today I don't. I do wish that I'll be compensated for that. I don't necessarily expect a refund for I'm looking forward to see how you will make up for this bad, bad, bad business decision.
All my regards, a fan who hope will stay one.

  • Telltale Games will find a way to quicken porting their games to Android. I know they will. I'll always have faith

  • I think the main reason for the Android uprest is just the lack of news. Just say something. You can't just sit there and say "watch our Twitter and so and so thread" Telltale! Any news, even "coming soon" would be fine, that way, we know you're not cheating us season pass holders out of our money

  • While we are left behind they are busy thinking about season 3.

That's what strikes me the most. The lack of response of any kind. And God forbid Mike comes in here again linking to the S2EP4 thread.

  • Wonder if we can contact the people who award those critical acclaim awards and let them know how critically bad Telltale's customer service is and how they've not only dropped the ball on android users but have chosen to straight ignore our pleas for help and now for refund?! If anyone can find out post it here. I'll be searching as well...

  • This isn't about porting anymore, someone on youtube played season 2 episode 4 before it was even released. and it was on a android device (i think it was a nexus 7 not sure) also is episode 4 available on amazon devices? Because it wouldn't take much to get it working on android.

  • Really?! A youtuber already played episode 4 on a Nexus 7 before it was released?!!! You're joking right?

Little backstory, you guys probably saw the guy on YouTube playing it on Android. I know how to do this, except it only works on PowerVR GPUs, I have Adreno. (If you have a PowerVR GPU then PM me)

Anyway, data files for games, etc in android are called OBBs. They are different for each GPU, there are 4 major ones. Mali, Tegra, PowerVR and Adreno. The guys in the youtube vid had a PowerVR GPU, so it worked. Right now, we can assume Telltale is "working" on the OBBs for the 3 other GPUs.

  • For all other platforms except for Android.

You can find out all of the release information in the Season Two Episode 4 Discussion Thread here: www.telltalegames.com/community/d

  • Thread: Any news about episode 4th? for android devices???

    ANy NEWS about it???

NOT REALEASE DATE YET 4android ????

  • Wouldn't gltools work so we could run it on other gpus?

  • We shouldn't have to "hack" our way into something we friggin paid for! Dammit, I want compensation for all of us for all the distress Telltale is causing us! Friggin ridiculous!

  • I think either they are having trouble running it on nvidia, snapdragon and other devices or they have a contract with a company that does not allow releasing it on android (like minecraft did)

  • I have been watching this thread for a while now. At first I was thinking you were all a bunch of whinny babies. So what it was a little delayed, its just a game and it will come out "SOON" as they stated. But now I am starting to change my mind. The lack of information, lack of excuses, or any communication is another example of poor customer service that has become the standard in today's market. If TTG is having an issue converting, then put out a blast on you infamous Twitter/Facebook pages. If you are too busy celebrating/working on other projects, then feed us a BS line about the politics of the Droid Marketplace. But the lack of communication shows a lack of interest in TTG's customers that reminds me of the way another online gaming company, PLAYDOM, used to treat its customers. It is a shame because I talked TTG up to a lot of people when I started playing TWD and I had planned on looking into their other games, but now I will be far more cautious with my wallet.
Here's to hoping that I am wrong, Cheers!

  • Yeah, couldn't agree more on that. I was like: "It's ok i'll just wait for an announce and I'll be patient, I'll just try another game from Telltale on my android". And then I found out that Adreno GPU devices don't support The Wolf Among Us. Now I'm just a sad person that wants his fix lol. God damn Telltale what's taking you so long at least say something.

  • So I have been watching this thread for quite some time now. All I see is kids crying because Telltale "stole their money". Listen to this. Be careful though it can really ruin your life. Just kidding. Android's biggest problem is FRAGMENTATION! Do you know what fragmentation is? Well if you dont I gonna sum it up here or you can search it on Google. Fragmentation is the problem caused by the different types of 1)resolution 2)screen size 3)Android version 4)CPU 5)GPU and other things that I wont discuss here. These are ALL things that your should have known before buying an android device. If you are not confident with having an open-source operating system you should have gotten a crappy Iphone (or now phone lol) in the first place. Android has many pros over IOS but also has some cons as well.
    Android :
*Much better looking and customisable OS.
    ***Freedom**
*A DOZEN more features than IOS
    *Much cheaper(usually)
    *More functional

    IOS :
    *Better AND MORE games
    *Better support
    *More device accessories

You see if its for ios TT has to make/port/optimize the game only for aprox 10 devices but if its for android the combinations are ENDLESS. And except from that they also have to work on other games AND other platforms (consoles, pc)
Relax, eventually the episode WILL come to Android. You SHOULD BE HAPPY that TT actually even released this game on Android. Also I would like to point out that I'm NOT SAYING THAT TT SUPPORT FOR ANDROID IS GOOD, but they are doing their best.

  • No, it doesn't just do a GPU check. It actually only runs on PowerVR chipsets.

I'm not even gonna try to reply with an in-depth answer... and your knowledge of FRAGMENTATION that you use like some Anti-Android buzzword (although I appreciate you look at both sides) seems very limited.... Android has gotten much better at fragmentation. (kinda unrelated, but) L can run on less than 512MB of ram.. Android is not FroYo and GB anymore.

You SHOULD BE HAPPY that TT actually even released this game on Android.

Sorry to burst your 2007 bubble, but Android is now a major platform. It is becoming expected that games release cross-platform on CrapOS and Android.

(also I like how you joined just to make that comment)

  • Believe me, my Android knowledge is not limited at all. I have been working with Android phones for 2-3 years now and I absolutely love them. I have even made a custom ROM for my previous device (u8800pro). In fact I'm currently using a Galaxy Note 2, thinking to upgrade to a Nexus 5 and hate iOS. Fragmentaion has nothing to do with the way Android L runs on a 512MB ram device. Right now Android devices that run KitKat are only 20.9% (aprox.) . Jellybean 4.1.x is at 26.5%, 4.2.x at 19.8% and 4.3.x only at 7.9%. ICS has 10.6% and GB 13.6% (!!!). So even though the framentation problem is being reduced by Google it still exists and is the main downside of Android. Remember, I'm just trying to be realistic here without hate on Android, TT or even you. Just stating facts. Now about how big Android really is. Android is actually (in my opinion) a much better OS than iOS but the marketing on Android SUCKS. Google really has to work on Google play and make developers produce exclusives for Android phones. That's why Apple has many more games, apps (and better support) than Android. Remember TT games were iOS exclusives for the longest time, with me begging TT to bring them to Android. Still (just like I said) TT support for Android sucks even after all this time. Android, even though being the biggest mobile platform without doubt has to do a lot more to become the king on mobile.(And no, you didnt burst my "2007 bubble".) Just go check out how many more games iOS has and then re-think about being sure a game will make its way to Android. Just to name a few iOS exclusives "Retry by ROVIO" "All those Tekken and Street Fighter games that will never probably come to Android(some are out on Android after many years) "Republique" "And many horror games" "Devil may cry 4(only out in japan on android)" "Corpse Party" "Steins Gate 2" and many MANY others. The truth is that many games are now coming to Android but still, you either have to wait years or months to get them. Finally I did make an account here just to say that but it seems that people don't want to open their eyes hence the 3 dislikes on my comment (no that I really care lol). Anyway, you can contact me on xda-developers (if you want obviously) because I am not really used to this forum.

Hey bud, i said >kinda unrelated,
when referring to the RAM thing. It is not directly related to fragmentation sure, but the fruits of it are seen throughout the OS, including how much RAM L takes. On the exclusives, I see what you're saying, but NOW it is becoming more common for games to release cross platform. Did I ever say all games will release cross platform? No. I said it is BECOMING expected. But I do respect you for the balanced perspective, not many people on TT Forums have that. Props.

  • This has nothing to do with porting...are you kidding me? No other developer has trouble.

This is the result of telltale being greedy cunts and making a backroom deal with apple. Completely ignoring it's android customers pleas for information is proof of that.

Or telltale is full of incompetent jackasses who are just dicks.

  • Where is the the next episode for Android?!
