Save File Menu Not Working

Hi, there! I bought The Walking Dead Season 2 directly from the Telltale Games website and play the game on my Mac. I've barely had any problems with being able to play the game until now.

I wanted to replay Episode 4, so I selected play and then the option to restart episode four. Then, as usual, it asked me to pick a save file to rewind to. Now, for some reason, the game arrives to the Save Files Menu, but it won't let me click anything. It won't let me scroll through to see my different save files, nor will it let me select the save file that it's already on.

Long story short, all of my menus are working fine, except for my Save Files Menu, which won't let me click anything or exit the menu without shutting down the game. And because of this, I can't play my game.

I've tried restarting my Mac multiple times and each time I've opened the game, I've made sure that I was connected to my internet. I also tried downloading the game again from my Telltale Games account onto my Mac without replacing the game. So I pretty much had two different TWD Season 2's on my Mac (I didn't want to replace the old game file just in case the new downloaded game didn't have my previous choices). When I downloaded the second one, all it's menus worked, but it didn't transfer any of my pervious episodes and had absolutely no memory on it whatsoever.

Please help me! I would love to play episode 4 again and also have this problem resolved before the final episode comes out so I don't have to miss out on the big finale! Thanks so much for your help, Telltale, and good luck with the rest of Season 2 and your future games! :)

I apologize for the inconvenience. We have had a small amount of reports from players experiencing this issue, that have all four save slots full, and are attempting to rewind. Unfortunately if you are experiencing this issue, your save files may have become corrupted. We are currently looking into the issue, and the only workaround at this time is to uninstall the game, then completely delete the save file directory from the game by deleting the

The Walking Dead Season Two folder from the following directory:

    ~Library/Application Support/Telltale Games/,

After deleting the folder, please reinstall the game, then start the game while connected to the internet, and you should not experience this issue again. My apologies for any difficulties this may cause you.

  • I've uninstalled the game and now am looking to delete the "The Walking Dead Season 2" folder, but I haven't been able to find the Application Support folder. I opened Finder on my Mac, then searched for the Library folder. Once I found it, the only thing inside the folder was another folder titled "FontCollections". When I opened that, just to check incase it had a different name, it didn't have any Telltale related files inside. I searched on Finder separately to see if the "Application Support" folder was in any different spot, but the folder didn't show up. I also searched for a "Telltale Games" folder and a "The Walking Dead Season 2" folder and couldn't find anything. I've also tried reinstalling the game while connected to the internet without deleting the "The Walking Dead Season 2" folder, and I've still had the same problem in the "Save Files" menu.

Is there any other place I could find the folder? Or is there any other way I could fix the problem?

Thank you for all your help! :)

My apologies, your Library folder is sometimes hidden, to make it visible, please open a Finder window, and at the top of the screen, click Go and hold down the Option key. The Library will now become available in the drop down menu. Click that and follow the above file path, and make sure you have deleted the above folder from the file structure. Then reinstall the game and start it while connected to the internet, and your issue should be resolved.

I apologize for the inconvenience. After looking over your support tool information, there doesn't seem to be any Season One save files in the file directory

    /Users/MTW/Library/Application Support/Telltale Games/TheWalkingDead/

file directory. Can you please clarify if you ever moved or altered your save file directory for Season One?

  • I am unable to restart episode 4 as when I get to the save menu, the game would just freeze and I would need to force the game to shut down. Here's my file for the support tool.

Please try renaming the prefs.prop file in

    C:\Users\user1\Desktop\The Walking Dead Season Two

to prefs.prop.bak to disable it, then restart the game and see if your saves are restored.

  • The only prefs.prop file I could find is in C:\Users\user1\Documents\telltale games\The Walking Dead Season Two I tried changing that but the save menu would still freeze. Tried playing the game on another computer and it worked fine though.

  • In Yosemite I found that the Library folder in the home folder was hidden. So I right clicked in my home folder and clicked show view options and was given the option to check show the Library folder in a check box. Once I did that, I had no more problems. Season 2 was able to find the save file for season 1.
