What was the point of this?
Well, in TWAU you can collect money through the whole game. To be honest, I took it when I had a chance to do so, although I gave money to Faith. I expected Telltale to use this somehow, but they didn't. I feel a bit disappointed now. It's obvious (at least I think so) that in original scenario it would have been used somehow to gain some profits or something. What a shame they've changed the plot so many times...
What are your thoughts on that? What was the original purpose of collecting money by Bigby? Why was it just omitted in scenario or forgotten by Telltale? Did you collect money as Bigby?

Why does everything suddenly lead to that changed the story. I mean really you have several chances to use the money during the game, it isnt forgotten about, and it never seemed to be a huge plot point to begin with
In my second playthrough I did 2 weeks ago, by ep.4 I had collected "lots of money" (or what it said). I was planning on giving it to Toad, but for some reason didn't get that option.
There are little things you can spend your money on throughout the game, but you have to select certain things.
Giving the money to Faith makes it so you cant pay for your drink, or pay Nerissa in Episode 2
Also If you give Faith the money you can find your 56 Dollars in Georgie's Floor Safe.
If you dont give money to Faith, you can buy Cigs, the drink and Pay Nerissa.
Yeah the Times you can give money is:
Give money to faith
Pay for drink at trip trap
Give money to Nerissa(all of the money or just what shes owed)
Give money to toad.
I think that is it. I was a little disappointed you couldn't give anyone any money in episode 5. I would have given it to Colin so he could get a glamour :P
You can buy cigarettes? When?
I think you've mistaken the "buying cigarettes" thing with Bigby actually taking them from Georgie's smashed up cigarette brand machine, should you so choose.
I think you have to go to the Lucky Pawn first to get that option.
Actually, if you don't give money to Faith you can buy cigarettes at the Trip Trap bar at the end of ep.1. Also, if you don't smash up Georgie's place, you can purchase cigarettes there as well. I dunno for sure though.

Nah you can't buy at the trip trap. Bigby will just ask if they have change for the machine and holly will say no.
