TWD S2 black screen and crash on startup (Steam, Win7)

Hi,

I can't start the game. Whenever I try to, it shows a black screen for a few seconds and returns me back to desktop. I've tried every workaround I could find, including:

  • compatibility mode (xp, 98, admin)
  • verifying game cache
  • disabling network
  • renaming the Documents\Telltale Games folder (which contains my TWD S1 saves)
  • updating graphics drivers
  • restarting the PC
  • unpluging my controller

    After looking over your support tool information, It seems that your save file directory is currently named

    C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Telltale Games\steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead Season Two

    Please try renaming it to

    C:\Users\Tyger\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead Season Two\

    then restart the game, and see if your issue is resolved.

    If it is not resolved, please try uninstalling Season Two from your computer, and deleting the 'The Walking Dead Season Two' folder from C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Telltale Games\ then reinstall the game, and your issue should be resolved.
