Screen goes black when selecting 'Rewind' for Episodes 2-5

Hi,
I am currently having an issue with the Walking Dead Season 1. About 1 year ago I played through the entire game and did not have any problems. However, now I am trying to play the game again and have an issue where the screen will go black with a cursor when trying to play episodes 2-5. The only way to remove the black screen is to force quit the game. To be specific, after selecting the save file and chapter, the game says ‘Rewinding will delete any progress made after this point, but retain progress up to this point. Do you want to rewind after thus checkpoint?’ Yes or No. Selecting either option will result in the black screen. I've been stuck on this for 2 months with being unable to play anything but chapter 1, and I desperately need help. Please help.

  • How long does the support tool take to run and complete? Do I just leave my computer on while not running anything else? Also how do I send the info when its completed?

    Depending on the computer, the support tool batch file should take between 2-10 minutes. After it is done, it will output the file you need to upload to the file hosting website. It doesn't matter if you have any other programs open, as it will only look in the computer's file directory for the game data.

    After you have the .zip file that the tool outputs, please upload that file to a file hosting website such as www.sendspace.com and post the download link into a new reply in this thread.

    Please rename the prefs.prop file in

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\default

    to prefs.prop.bak to disable it, and your save files should be restored, and you will be able to continue the game from where you left off.
