Dale died because he wanted out of the show, or Glenn Mazzara that shitlord fired him, the show went downhill after Frank Darabont was fired, and Mazzara completely ruined season 2 imo.

Literally right before that happened I was all like, "You know what, I think Dale is probably my… more favorite character in the show". As soon as he saw the half-eaten cow I knew he was done. Carl is actually really starting to get frustrating.

I can't really even explain it, but I kind of liked Shane for some reason... even though I didn't really agree with his actions. Oh well. Time to watch the finale and see people die.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing during that scene, though I don't think the characters making poor decisions is necessarily a product of bad writing. I think its only realistic that the group makes mistakes during the apocalypse.

Okay someone needs to settle a dispute I've been having with my brother over Shane's intentions. Was the whole point of Shane dragging the prisoner into the woods + killing him all part of some scheme to murder Rick? Like, maybe I missed something but I didn't get that vibe at all. I thought he did that simply because he wanted to kill the prisoner and get away with doing it. Coming unglued on Rick when Rick called him out for murder was a separate issue, right?
I mean.. I don't know why Shane was stringing him along for so long. Why wouldn't he have just shot him in the woods... instead of waiting to confront him basically right on Hershel's property?

I by no means hate Shane, but he was constantly undermining Rick as leader, this I could understand, but then he takes it further and says Rick isn't capable of protecting his own wife and son. He's implying that he's better suited for the job, a blatant insult to Rick's manhood(lol). At this point, Shane had solidified himself as a threat to Rick and his family, so I can understand why he was forced to do it. He definitely didn't enjoy it though, and there will be repercussions to the decision he made to take out Shane.
