When in the Fables series should a new season of TWAU be. (SPOILERS)

edited November 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

When, according to the Fables comics, do you think a new season should be made, if they decide to go for another.

Before the books, like season 1, and not related to season 1 either?
A sequel to continue a new story immediately after season 1?
After Snow and Bigby have pups, so the children are involved?

I want to hear your ideas and see if we can create a solid foundation for a new season. (You never know. They might be looking through these posts for inspiration)

Either way i think it would be fascinating to hear all your ideas

  • I want it to happen right after the 1st season (before the comics).

  • So potentially Bigby going after Nerissa/Faith and ending up in another case revolving around her? Or something completely different which has nothing to do with season 1?

Personally I'd like confirmation whether it was Nerissa or Faith that was in the end at season 1(I think it's Faith who was alive), so something continuing where season 1 left off wouldn't be too bad.

  • Prequel. They have plenty of time to work with and there isn't really a good time frame in the comics for them to make another season if they wanna keep Bigby the PC.

  • I would want it to take place maybe a year or two after Season 1 and in the winter

  • It could be cool to see them when they first came to America, back in the days of the wild west (If I'm not mistaken) and see how they would try to fit in. :D

  • If this were to be the case, I would at least want them to hint at who Nerissa/Faith were, without going into it. It would also be a nice way to update the character models to wither clothing. (Except Bibgy. He don't care about no cold, sir)

  • In general, I think they should stick to 80's, I really like the atmosphere and setting they've created so far, plus we saw "modern-era" Fables in comics. So whatever they're gonna do, I just hope they're gonna go for 80's theme. Also, Bigby in coat would look badass! :)

80's theme is really cool and it fits in with the noir feeling that I really enjoyed in this game. So I would love for them to stick with that

  • Season 2 should continue on from season 1; it only makes sense... Now if they made a DLC set in the Fables universe (maybe some Wolf family moments...) then that would be fine, but TWAU should remain set before Fables issue 1 to keep things more simple.

  • Like many have said, Season 2 should just continue from Season 1. And any following seasons should still be prequel to the comics (i.e. before Fables #1)

  • I would honestly like a Dlc that is still in the 80s and there is a Christmas party at the woodlands and all you do is talk to people at the party and can walk around New York. lol

  • Season 2 should definitely follow the events from 'Cry Wolf', there was some unanswered questions that need to be answered for.

Another idea that would be cool if Season 2 was to be completely unrelated to Season 1, I would want the plot to be set in the 1940s right when Bigby comes back from his mission in World War II.

  • That would be interesting for a Dlc. I dont think TellTale would want to go back tracking

  • Probably not, but it would be an interesting setting though I don't know how it could be fit into a DLC.

For a DLC, it would be cool if it was set on The Farm because it would give us players a better understand why Toad and Collin say they hate The Farm. We wouldn't play as Bigby since he's not allowed, but we could play as TJ maybe.

  • Shortly after Season 1 and 'Cry Wolf', have it set so that we go around the case of Nerissa, as well as The Butcher not be Johan but somebody else and this time, have them be a killer who is brutal. Not just like last time. Have them kill some big names and fairy-tales, make them do it in horrible and random ways. Make them even kill Mundies. Have them really wreak havoc among the town.

  • That's kind-of what the original plot for the series was; Episode 1 followed a plot where an actual serial killer would go around killing Fables and possibly Mundies and it would lead the Police to discovering Fabletown and thinking that Bigby is the murderer. However the series was re-written for Ep2 onwards as the Fables writing team didn't like the original plot in reagrds to the series canon.

  • Yes but this isn't about involving the police. And it's not one killer. The Butcher is a gang, who have been hiding and supplying the Crooked Man, only to know he was going to be defeated. With him out the way and most people depending on the broken government, they knew Fabletown was vulnerable enough to take over, and thus they're trying to.

Firstly by murdering Mundies, then Fables and it would go into hierarchy, until perhaps Bigby or Snow was next. Your choices concerning The Crooked Man also come into play. If he's in prison, he comes back and is ready to try and help The Butcher, only to be slaughtered by them instead.

  • It was changed because Branagin was going to find out Bigby was a fable but it was too close to a storyline in the comic

  • My fav volume is actually Super Team (Bigby and Snow naked in the Sacred Grove is one of the main reasons) My fav issue is obviously issue 50.

But the cover for Volume 3 kinda makes me sad in a way that I can't explain. I guess it's because even though the title says Storybook Love, it ends with Bigby and Snow at odds with each other and, well, not in love at all...

  • Oh come on; we never see them doing ANYTHING in the comics, it's all hugging and holding hands and a few odd kisses with them, but THAT panel was a godsend!
