All episodes say coming soon after finishing ep3 but I have them?

Hi,
Basically what happens is I load up my game (all the episodes are available) and I play through the last cutscene in ep3 where they discover clem's walkie-talkie works then after showing me whats next and the credits, it goes back to the main menu so I load my save file up and it like zooms to episode 4 but it says coming soon and so do all the other episodes but I do have them.

Then when I quit, load the game up, and try to play directly from episode 4, it says something like do you want to generate decisions for skipped episodes?

Its so frustrating.

Thanks.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you please clarify if you have the game installed to the default location on your computer, or installed to a custom install path, or a separate drive on your computer? If so, I recommend reinstalling the game on the same drive you have Steam installed to, and moving your save files to that directory, and the game should update with Episode 3 properly.

  • Okay I did that and now I have access to episode 4 and my save game is still there however when I press play episode 4, the previously on the walking dead bit shows doug getting shot by Lilly instead of who I chose in the first episode - Carley?

Please rename the prefs.prop file in

    E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\default

to prefs.prop.bak to disable it, and restart the game, and your choices should be fixed.

  • Ugh I replayed the last part of episode 3, the last cutscene to see if it would make a difference but it just went back to the coming soon thing :S This game is unbelievably buggy.

Please also rename the prefs.prop in

    C:\Users\YOURNAME\Desktop

to prefs.prop.bak to disable it as well, and then restart the game, and see if the issue is resolved.

  • Okay I can finally get into episode 4 but now it keeps saying previously lilly killed doug when I chose Carley. Even disable the prefs.prop is having no difference?

This may be related to the original prefs.prop file issue. Could you please re-run the Support Tool file now that you are able to start Episode 4, and reply with the new uploaded file's download link? After we receive this, I will be able to assist you with your issue.

After looking over your new support tool information, I cannot seem to find any other prefs.prop files causing this issue. Can you please clarify if before running the support tool again, that there was another prefs.prop file that you have already disabled/deleted?

If you have Steam Cloud Saving on, please make sure that you have recently synced with it, then disable Steam Cloud saving, and see if you are then able to see your save files. Unfortunately if this does not work, the only other option would be to delete your saves and prefs.prop file, and start a new game. My apologies for any difficulties this causes you.
