I'm operating under the assumption that there will not be a second season, mostly to ease my frustration and disappointment. Then if they release it, I get to be pleasantly surprised.
Realistically, no one at this point, not even Telltale, knows if it will happen. Telltale is busy at the moment and I'm guessing they will re-evaluate what's next when they get closer to the end of their current projects.
We'll make everyone's windows squeaky-clean, motherfuka.

I'm pretty sure Telltale will know whether or not it will happen as they would need to get permission from Vertigo and Bill Willingham and also at some point they would need to plan the story.
They haven't said it won't happen and if they are planning another season they might be waiting for the right time to announce it, they announced Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands at the VGX awards last year and this years game awards is on Friday so that could be a good place to watch for any possible announcements (fingers crossed for the members of "TWAU crew" :P).
I certainly hope they do, I absolutely loved the first season.
The main reason I think it isn't in the pipeline is the fact that Telltale confirmed the third season of The Walking Dead. I don't see the logic in confirming the return of one series while hiding another. That's not to say a second season of TWAU will never happen. Telltale would be stupid to close that door for the future.
They announced season 3 of The Walking Dead at San Diego comic con at a panel with Skybound which was the perfect time and place to announce it.
If there is a season 2 of The Wolf Among Us they might be waiting for a event to announce it at, they haven't had any big events to attend recently so the game awards could be a good place to announce something as they have been nominated for a award as well as Melissa Hutchison and Adam Harrington.
There is apparently going to be some announcements at the game awards with "Over 12 World Premieres" according to this atricle and it would be cool if there was some sort of Wolf Among Us released announcement but like you i don't want to get my hopes up yet.
Well I'm eager to tap DAT snow white ass so I would hope so!

They could announce it at Playstation Expo or the VGX Awards (since thats where announced TFTB and GoT)
Like you, I'm not gonna get my hopes up but I'm hoping there will be at least a DLC announcement at one of these events :P

We are getting a season two. It got confirmed today.

That website isn't reliable and if Season 2 got confirmed today the forums and their Twitter page would be a huge mess :P (in a good way)
That website is very unreliable, they said TWD S2 episode 5 would release in late Septermber at one point. Only trust Telltale with news about TWAU.
I wish I could find the video, but it was an interview with the 2 writers and they asked if there were plans for a Season 2 (this was before Season 1 came out) and they said it was up to the fans in the end
