Forever "Updating Content"

I just finished s2ep4! And now when I click play its forever stuck on updating content. I read that I have to delete my file and start over... I really hope that is not true.

    I apologize for the inconvenience. We have had a few reports from players experiencing this issue, and are currently looking further into the root cause of the issue. We hope to have a resolution in the near future. Unfortunately at this time, the only workaround is to upload your saves to the Playstation Online Storage and start a new game, or delete the Save Data Utility for the game from the Save Data Utility menu on your PS3's XMB, and start a new game in Season Two. Again, my apologies for any difficulties this may cause you, as we look further into the issue.

    Just thought I'd ask if a solution for this has been discovered yet?

    I'm playing the disc version of Season 2 - using save files from digital version of Season 1/400 Days. Have played through the first four episodes with no issue three times now - but every time I go to play Episode 5 the game gets stuck on the 'Updating Content' screen and am unable to access Episode 5. Have tried the fix of deleting the game data and starting the whole Season 2 game again - but after attempting this TWICE the game continues to stick on Ep. 5.

    Is there ever going to be a patch or fix for the PS3 disc version of Season 2? I don't particularly want to pay for a Playstation Plus account to access online storage whilst I'm only on PS3 - and really am not that happy that I appear to have purchased a game I can't actually finish due to technical issues!

    Can you please clarify if you deleted the Game Data Utility, or the Save Data Utility for the game from your PS3? The workaround is to delete the Save Data from the Save Data Utility. If you have a Playstation Plus account, you can back up your current saves to the Playstation Online Storage. Unfortunately if you do not, deleting your Save Data Utility file for the game will unfortunately delete your save files permanently.

  • Hi,
    I have The Walking Dead Season 2 on the play station 3 and I am not able to continue playing the game because of 'Updating Content' glitch. I left it loading for a couple of hours to see if it will finish 'updating v
    Content' and it has not changed. I am in Ep.4 and I really want to continue the game however i cant because of this glitch. I am very frustratwd because of this since i am a big fan of the game and its prequal. Hope you can help me solve this technical problem.

    Thank you for providing the extra information. I unfortunately do not have any new information or updated on the issue at this time. We hope to have a resolution in the near future. At this time, the only workaround is to upload your saves to the Playstation Online Storage if you have the ability to and start a new game, or delete the Save Data file for the game from the Save Data Utility menu on your PS3's Settings menu, and start a new game in Season Two.

    We have had reports from players experiencing this issue, that playing through Season Two in smaller increments allows them to play the Season in it's entirety without running into this issue. We have found that playing through multiple episodes in one sitting may be related to the cause of this issue occurring. I recommend try playing through each episode individually, then after completing an episode and before starting the next episode, try exiting/closing out of the game, and turning your system off, and back on again. Then start the next episode, and repeat the process. After you have reached Episode 5, you should then be able to play through the episode fully, and with all of your choices in-tact. Again, my apologies for any difficulties this may cause you, as we look further into the issue.
