What NEW Villains would you like to see in TWAU Season 2?

As I've said in the thread title, the purpose of this thread is to discuss any potential new villains, and not to retread on any old villains from Season 1 (such as Crooked Man, BLOODY MARY, Tweedle Brothers, Jersey Devil etc), so please, no posts such as "I want Bloody Mary in Season 2." (I love Bloody Mary too, but I just don't want this to be that kind of thread again)

Any fairy tales, myths or urban legends not explored yet in the Fables comics, or TWAU season 1 are the ones I'd like to talk about.

To start off, one Fable that particularly interested me was Peter Pan. At first I found it odd that such as popular character would not be included in the Fables comics, but after looking at Geppetto's Wikipedia entry, I found out why:

"Willingham originally intended for the Adversary to be revealed as Peter Pan. Peter would come to our world to steal children so they would remain young, becoming more corrupt. Also, it would turn out that Captain Hook was actually the hero attempting to rescue the children. However, DC discovered that Peter Pan was not in the public domain in Great Britain, unlike other "Fables" characters, and thus could not be used. Willingham thus used Geppetto, an idea he has since seen as better."

Ok, I don't know how the Public domain works, but if they can get the character at Telltale, and change the backstory around a bit (since he would no longer be the Adversary), then he could work as a pretty good villain, don't you think?

Share your thoughts, and all other suggestions for possible NEW villains.

  • The Headless Horseman would be cool. Even if the comics they dont if he is real or fake. So it would be cool if the headless horseman was going around killing people.

  • Also It would be funny if he drove a Ferrari or something lel

  • Like you said, Peter Pan would certainly be interesting. Kidnappings in Fabletown lead Bigby to Neverland, where the whole season 2 can take place.

I wouldn't mind seeing more giants or trolls, other than Gren and Holly. They would be interesting to see as well.

  • Now this is more like it! Keep them rolling people! (meanwhile searches online for any fairy tales, myths, urban legends etc that hasn't been used on Fables.....)

  • I would like to see more horror/urban legends like Bloody Mary was. Something that everyone knows but the story of the character hasn't really been opened yet.

  • That's a good suggestion.

Kinda conflicted on whether the Horseman should kill just Fables, or should he be killing mundies though.

    • killing Fables only would be sort of retreading the Season 1 story, but the conflict would be kept small and be contained (which makes sense if Telltale's plan is to keep the conflict within just Fabletown, and not escalate it like in the comics)

    • killing mundies on the other hand, adds variety from what happened in Season 1, but then all sorts of problems will arise that Fabletown will need to deal with (such as keeping mundies convinced there is no headless horseman while he goes on a killing spree)

In either case, maybe the perpetrator is an ally of Crane in Fabletown?

  • Killing Mundies would be really interesting. Id like them to get into the original plot more. Maybe the murders could get put on Bigby later in the Season. Also, they could bring Brandish back in investigating the murders, Fable and mundy

  • Brandish? You mean Prince Brandish? I don't get why he would be in TWAU (since until Snow White arc, him and Bigby are complete strangers, and having him in it would be far too coincidental.

  • Oops. I meant Detective Branagin. Because we meet her in ep 2 so it would be interesting to interact with her again ;3

  • If we are going based off of the comic, (I am only on issue #52, as I have recently discovered this comic), I think Goldy Locks should be included in the next season. Not necessarily taking the role of the leader for the farm annex. I think more characters in Snow's life should be introduced. For instance, Rose Red and Prince Charming. I do not want Bigby and Snow to resign so quickly from their jobs, though. I do think in the beginning of season 2 we should get a recap or an explanation for the cliff hanger at the season finale. Maybe the mad hatter from Alice and Wonderland. Expecting from his name, I think he could turn into a devilish villain. Instead of Peter, maybe include Wendy? I think more fables from foreign folk tales would be interesting.

  • Not sure whether I would want Goldilocks to be the villain of Season 2 (I'm okay with her just appearing as a supporting character, but not as antagonist just yet), since I don't think she would be under Bigby and Snow's radar just yet....

Mad Hatter, while he does sound interesting does appear in the Jack of the Fables volume (in Golden Boughs Retirement Village), so I don't know how he would fit in Season 2.

  • Found some new possible villain characters:

    • Bogeyman

    http://villains.wikia.com/wiki/Bogeyman_(folklore)

    • Rumpelstiltskin (okay he is in Once Upon a Time, but that doesn't mean Telltale cannot use him)

    http://villains.wikia.com/wiki/Rumpelstiltskin

    • Koschei

    http://villains.wikia.com/wiki/Koschei

  • I actually had the bogeyman in mind as well. I think he would be a great villain for season two. I vision Rumplestiltskin as a similar role to Aunty Green leaf, but not necessarily an ally to the antagonist. Although, Rumplestiltskin could lead to a nice plot twist. Depending on the setting for season 2, I think Koschei would not be a good fit right now.

  • Darn, you're right! Just checked Mr. Dark's entry in Fables Encyclopedia, and it says Mr. Dark represents the Bogeyman.

Well, that idea is thrown out of the window.

Oh well, guess we gotta keep looking.....

HazzatheMan, feel free to make some suggestions.

  • Jack the Ripper, but instead of killing prostitutes, he's killing Mundies and staging the murders after the Fables' real stories.

  • Errr I have none to give! The only one I would suggest is the Nuckelavee, but I'm already using my version of him for my TWAU story on FanFiction.net, so if TellTale used him then it would be a bit weird for me...

  • Jack the Ripper was real so probs not. And if he was a fable he would be jack of fables ;3

  • This is a long shot but, what about charcters from OTHER literature... In the comics, Bigby gets his funding for his assignments by sending golden eggs to the Merchant of Venice. That character is from Shakespeare so maybe TellTale can use characters from other source material. Fables are storybook characters, so it should include all literature technically

I would like the see the Dee brothers (or one of them if you kill Dum) to appear next, and Jersey as well. I refuse to believe that Jersey is dead.

As for new villains, I think a nice new character to introduce would be Tailypo (or the monster from Tailypo, since Tailypo isn't actually it's name.) My world literature teacher, Ms. Kinney, told us the story of Tailypo. It is a folktale from the Appalachia people.

I suggest reading or listening to it on youtube yourself, but the general gist of the story is that a man who lived in a cabin in the woods went out hunting for food with his three dogs. He came back empty handed, and he was afraid he would go to bed hungry. Then he saw what looked like a rodent between some logs, and a long tail stuck out of it. He took his hatchet and cut the tail off, and the 'rodent' screeched and ran off. The man cooked and ate the tail, but after he went to bed, he began to hear scratching on the walls of his cabin, and a dark voice saying, "Tailypo... Tailypo... Give me back my Tailypo..."

He sent his dogs after the beast, and they chased it out into the woods, then the dogs came back. But again, he began to hear scratching, this time on the door. "Tailypo... Tailypo... All I want is my Tailypo...". Again, the man sent the dogs, and they chased it into the swamp... but this time the dogs didn't come back. The man was scared, and soon enough the scratching came again at the door, and the man heard the voice, "You know... and I know... I want my Tailypo..." and the door began to slowly open, and the creature sneaked in. The man was too scared to do anything. The creature came to the foot of the bed, climbing up slowly onto the old man's bed. "Tailypo... Tailypo... give me back my TAILYPO!" And the man screamed, and the creature tore down everything; the house, the bed... and the man. Now he's got his tailypo...

I think he would be a good Henchman or Assassin or some sort of mercenary in the criminal underworld. Maybe he can be a villain who only helps the protagonist for his own personal gain. Or maybe he will leave tips and pointers for the protagonist to find and kill/arrest the antagonist, just so he can swoop in and take his place as leader of the criminal underground.

  • The Boogieman!

  • It's too bad they can't use the Boogieman, since Mr. Dark is Boogieman in the comics

    The Boogieman!

  • The CEO of Huff & Puff cigarettes.

  • Though this might go against canon, I would love to meet another wolf like Bigby. Just the idea of a full on fight between two wolves in Bigby's final form makes me shiver :D

  • I think that would be cool. And also Jersey isnt dead <3

  • It does go against canon as Bigby is the biggest Wolf that ever lived in Fables, only a different monster could match up to him...

  • I'd love to see Peter Pan as the villain, he might abduct Mundie children or something like that, which could provide the opportunity to meet Brannigan again...plus, I seriously hate Peter Pan.
Also even if I know it's pretty much impossible, there's this traditional fable about an old lady who's eyes are open when she's asleep and closed when she's awake and she uses this trick to stab travelers, for apparently no reason besides her entertainment. I can't remember how it's called, I must check it out. Anyway, this story has always given me the shivers, other than a childhood trauma, and it would be awesome to see it on TWAU. I mean, a freakin' old lady who managed to kill thousands of young and strong dudes, it's not something you see everyday!

Why does it have to be a fairy tale-related villain? Personally, I'd love to see a more fanatical version of Richard Dawkins descend on Fabletown; an atheist determined to rid the world of what he perceives to be "irrational delusions".

  • Wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

He faced all sorts of Big monsters, but that was during his time in the homelands (where he became legendary), so I'm not sure how may huge monsters would be left (with exception of Beast, but he's not the enemy) who travelled to mundy world. But it would be great if we were to find some other huge monsters for him to face (but he definitely is the Biggest and baddest wolf of them all).

I loved it when he faced the snake-like creature in the "Destiny" arc (though it was product of sorcery)

  • He could still go vs. some other Wolf. Bigby being the "biggest and baddest" was in the Homelands. I'm sure telltale could find a way to introduce a new character who ends up being the other Wolf. I mean it could all be a secret with who ever this new wolf is killing people, leading people to think Bigby is killing people leading to the everyone thinks Bigby is a murder type thing. I think it would be cool ;3
