Both. Even tho Borderlands trys so hard to be funny and fails. I still enjoyed it .
And GOT was as good as expected .

Definitely. Relaxing in general when there are productive things that need doing can kind of ruin the experience for me. Whenever you do run into some down time though, I would possibly consider giving it a shot. If you do try it and don't end up caring for it, at least it would only be a $5 investment lol. Well... and two hours of your life I suppose.

Its really hard for me sometimes to push myself to play games. I want to play them because they are telltale, but at the same time there is

  • Maybe, i still have Evil Undead to to play, or whatever its called. I got to the second stage and lost interest.

  • I had no previous knowledge of both Borderlands and Game of Thrones, and thus my opinion is completely unbiased.. but I liked the Game of Thrones premiere better, thought the Borderlands premiere was excellent as well!

  • In terms of first episodes, I agree.

Not really it is actually the 4th best now. TFTB, GOT, and TWAU were all more enjoyable IMO

  • I agree. Walking Dead started as my favorite Telltale series, but now its not. It can redeem itself with S3, but I still know I will prefer some of their other games over it. Just my opinion.

Also, I'm happy that guy got banned, anyone who can't respect opinions should be.

  • Personally, Borderlands (and I mean the whole series and not including the Telltale Game, which I have not, and will never play,) is a horrible travesty. The characters are cookie cutter, the writing and plot of the main games are pathetic and uninteresting, at best, it's a slapdash interpretation of what an FPS could be in any genre. I have yet, and never will, be coerced into thinking it's anything other than a cheap cash-in, appealing to multiple levels of FPS fans. It's not a good game, the controls are horrendous, the cliche appeal is offputting, the artstyle hasn't worked since anime was first accepted in North America in the 1980's, and it's a shallow attempt at the best, humor.

Game of Thrones, Game of Thrones: Iron from Ice and The Walking Dead all the way.

  • They both gave me different sensations, but i think that Borderlands but just a bit more

  • Words cannot express just how much I disagree with you.

  • Game of Thrones for the serious, story side.

Borderlands had me laughing out loud and was insanely fun.

I don't have a favourite, but it was extremely clever to have the two running alongside each other.

  • If you're basing the Telltale Game from the actual games - don't.

  • Are you sure about that? Because I have been hearing non-Borderlands fans say how much the first episode rocked all the way and even someone who has a personal distaste for the franchise proclaims that Telltale's version is worth playing, he even made a thread about it, congratulating Telltale on making at least one Borderlands experience worth playing. So, I'd at least give Tales a shot, but it is your choice.

  • I think you are missing the point if you think its trying to be a FPS.

  • TFTBL Episode 1 was legit my favorite episode from them as of yet from any of their gamelines. It was so on point comically, it made me laugh so much, it was so fun.

I had as much fun playing through it as would have had watching a great comedy. I truly love it, and cannot heap enough praise on it. But that's highly subjective.

This is coming from someone who generally thinks the humor of the core Borderlands games falls sorta flat. Just like I'll smirk slightly from time to time. But Borderlands had me laughing out loud constantly. I like how they looked at the setting from a different prespective, both from the types of protagonists to how the gameplay looks to people in universe. Scavengers actually staring at all these random numbers trying to make sense of them. A corrupt suit who would be at home in robocop, a slick con artist who socially manipulates people in a setting where socialisation normally boils down to hitting accept for a quest.

GOT was great, and it's exactly how I would have kicked off a semi independent story set during the story that was canon friendly. But Borderlands was jut on a whole other level, I never would have imagined it could be that good.

  • Nope, my opinion is based on the Borderlands games, not the Telltale TFTB. :)

I appreciate that other people like it, but for me personally, it's not a fun FPS.

If you appreciate it, great. I was just expressing how much I don't. I'm sure there are books, tv shows, movies and games I love that you don't like at all.

  • I choose Game of Thrones as better one, although both games has their bad sides.

Game of Thrones was too commercial move. Even next episoder are marketed with characters from Martin's novel which are reduced to cameo appearances or supporting roles in the game. Real game characters are more like cannon fooder. True game character is the World of George R. Martin. That fact has its benefits and story is interesting enough. But, I must admit I would enjoy more something less commertial and more entertening, like 4th season of Sam & Max or 2nd season of Tales of Monkey Island.

The Tales of Borderlands is not so serious regarding story and characters. Way too many plot holes and characters behaving out of character. It has its funs and entertaining aspect but in too cheap way to be enjoyable for me. Like game is trying to be funny but over trying. Frankly, I've expected it to be the better one of two but even too commercialized Game of Thrones is being far better and more enjoyable.

  • Good thing the Telltale TFTB isn't an FPS then.

You can't judge a game until you've played it mate. The game is just a fun, silly story set in the Borderlands universe. You don't even need to play the games to understand - I've never played any Borderlands games before and understood perfectly.

GOT. That moment of shock at the end.

  • I LOVED GoT episode 1, even knowing nothing about the source material, because of how great the characters are. I really liked Ethan, I was hoping he'd remain a main character and see him get the development he deserves. But alas.

Why'd you bump this thread, if I may ask?

Didn't even look at the date of the thread. It was on my list of followed threads ...
Didn't even notice I already commented on it either.

  • Game of thrones is more of a long haul I think

  • I think asking the question in the GoT section was a bit silly, you won't get the most accurate result. Maybe ask a poll in the general section?
