  • Where can I read it? Also where does it leave off?

  • I bought it from Google play and it ends after Bigby goes through the window with The Woodsman

  • How many pages is it? From the start of Episode 1 until going out the window is maybe 15-20 minutes of gameplay!

I'm getting it today (and just in time, since I'm finishing reading Fables Encyclopedia today as well.....and I've already finished the Unwritten/Fabes Crossover).

Good thing is, each issue will be released every Wednesday (Volume 1 will consist of first 3 issues), so we won't need to wait for the whole month for the next issue. :)

  • Just finished reading it, and yeah it's more of same story (though I guess there are couple of differences - such as Toad standing outside waiting for Bigby (in the game, he was inside), and Woodsman overpowering Bigby more (in the game Bigby's more badass depending on player's quicktime actions).

Artwork I found to be okay (it's not bad, but it's not great either).

So far, from what I can tell, they seem to be going either Neutral or Bad play path (seems to be more Bad in my view).

  • Its on Comixology for 99c. Thanks for the update. Im getting it now.

Seeing Bigby's internal monologue is kinda interesting I guess. I'd like to see what he was thinking at the end of Chapter 3 and 5.

Just wishful thinking, doubt they'll do it but Chapter 4 from Snow's PoV would be pretty cool.

  • The Woodsman overpowers Bigby more in the comic? Well that sucks... If Woody is overpowering him then the Bloody Mary fight will just be Bigby getting the shit kicked out of him until he Wolf's out!

  • It's longer than a standard issue of Fables and it took you like 5 mins to read!? Just how small are the pages???

  • The fight scene drags for a bit and takes up multiple pages for one picture. There also isnt that much to read. The only New writing is Bigby's narration

  • Nah, Bigby takes him down better. The Axe gets stuck in the refrigerator and Bigby yanks its off and smashes him with it

  • Well it certainly looked like it when I read it. Yeah, I was kinda bummed too......Whenever I play, I always time the quicktime actions perfectly and dodge Woodman's every move to try to make Bigby as badass as possible.

But this Bigby from TWAU comics seems to be hit once, be downed for a moment, and stikes Woodsman when he's distracted by Faith......Can't really tell how it's gonna be since it's just one issue, but I hope they don't show him fight like that for all his fights in the game. If so, I'll be disappointed.

  • I time the QTE's perfectly as well, but there are some instances during Woody's fight where I might fail a QTE to get new moves such as: If Woody pins you against the desk then you can smash him with the bottle, punch him in the gut and then knee him in the face afterwards. Or if he throws you on the bed, you can block his punches, smash his head against the light on the wall and then beat him down. Also if he throws you into the bookcase then you can smash him with one of the shelves... (You can see I have experimented with all of the fight scenes)

Yeah, I was disappointed when Woodsman threw Bigby to the shelf and he seemed downed for the count (see those kinda scenes a lot in Boxing when a Boxer downs his opponent and referee makes counts). Kinda makes me think, what really would have happened if Faith didn't distract the Woodsman?

I get they were trying to make the Woodsman look strong, but (personlly) I think they nerfed (I know, I know, it's normally term used for gaming) Bigby a bit during that issue (and I didn't really like it)

Though like you've said, I did like him stiking down Woodsman with Refridgerator-Axe.

  • I thnk these comics will be best appreciated by fans of the series who might not have played the game and won't worry that it's too much like the game. They wIll have new alternate stories like with Fairest. Or with people like me who like to read everything Fables.

  • The bruises Bigby has after the fight with Woody make sense with the comic and letting Woody beat you a little in game.

  • Issue 2 didn't add too much to the game either, but I thought they improved a little bit with Bigby's monologue. And I really like how they added the "kiss on the Bigby's cheek" by Faith when she says "You're not as bad as everyone says you are."

I thought it was really sweet and kinda wish that was in the game...... (What can I say? To me, Bigby will always be Snow's man, but I really like Faith too......)

  • Will this be out as a trade?

  • I think so...

  • I'm replaying it (albeit very slowly) on PS4, I still have both Seasons of TWD to replay and then I have to start TFTB and GOT (Yes, I have both the new games and their season passses, but I haven't started them yet...)

  • The only actual difference is that Woody talks a bit longer, and Bigby assessing how much Woody hit Faith. Another difference is the amount of money Woody had. Also the fight escalation outside.

  • It's been a long time since I played Telltale games, and only game I would be interested in replaying would be TWAU (I'm sort of burnt out on TWD for the moment, at least until they release Season 3).

But recently, I started playing Dragon Age Inquisition, so it could be a long time before I get back to TWAU replay.

    • How much more money does Woody have?
    • How does the fight escalate outside?

  • The Woodsman has 6 dollars. And Bigby talks to Woody before the known situation.

  • Interesting... I'll make sure to buy this series in Volumes like the main Fables comic :)

Not the entire series, more like a major game chapter. The January 14th issue will be up until Bigby decides where to go first (Toad's or Lawrence's) from the looks of it.

  • Just got the copy of TWAU #5 as well as The Fairest #33.

A bit busy now though, so won't have time to read them until this evening.

  • There's a very nice telling of Faith's story in the latest issue. I recommend checking it out.

  • Just, finished reading #5. I quite liked how they went into more depth/detail with Faith's fairy tale in this issue.

  • People were wondering what was the point of doing a comic version of the game and I would say there it is. If you loved the game and the Fables Universe, you can get more detail into the story and characters.

  • I agree that one of the best reasons to read the comic is that everything is more in depth. Bigby's thoughts, how Bigby got bruises, the entire story of Faith, etc.
