OS X 10.10 - Screen distorted on startup

Hi

I've bought TWD through Steam and installed it on my macbook pro running OS X 10.10 Public Beta 2. When I press Play game the screen goes bonanza in all kinds of colors. All I can do is cmd+q to exit the game.

I tried to disable the dedicated video card and run the game with the Intel Iris Pro but that only gives me a completely black screen (I can hear sound in the background though). The game runs just fine in bootcamp running Windows 8.1 on the same computer.

My computer specs are:
Macbook Pro Retina 15" Late 2013
Intel Core i7 2,6 GHz
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
nVidia Geforce GT 750m & Intel Iris Pro

After reading a lot of posts on this forum I understand you are gonna ask me to upload a file from the Mac Support Tool, so I took the liberty of doing that in advance. Here is the link: https://www.sendspace.com/file/7cidt7

Also, I've uploaded a screenshot of how it looks on to macrumors.com forum, here is the link to the thread: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1769387

I hope you are able to help me solve this issue!

I apologize for the inconvenience. We have received reports from players using Retina display Macs experiencing this issue. Please try starting the game again, and when you see the distorted screen, please try switching the game to Windowed Mode using the shortcut (Command+F for Mac) and see if you are then able to see the game correctly. If so, please then try changing the game's resolution and graphics settings to a lower setting, and click Apply. Then try switching back to Full Screen Mode by using the same shortcut, and your issue should then be resolved.

  • That solved my issue! Thanks a lot for your help!

My apologies, please try the other workaround suggested by another player using Mac OS 10 Yosemite, below:

    1) In System Preferences, select Displays, then select Scaled - More Space to change the screen resolution to very detailed.

    2) In System Preferences, select Dock, then deselect 'Automatically hide and show the dock', to be able to click on the bottom of the screen.

    3) Start up the game and run it in windowed mode using the Mac shortcut (Command + F).

    4) You should now be able to see the main menu now and change the screen resolution to one that fits the window.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately I am out of potential solutions. I recommend playing in Windowed Mode if you have the ability. I will make sure to pass your information along to the team for further investigation.
