How do i make this a functional game?
I've been trying to play season one since it came out. I've lost saves, had it refuse to let me go on to the next episode, forget my choices, get stuck at black screen, even after the patches. I've uninstalled/re-installed countless times, tried fixes from the boards, and have restarted the game from episode one around 7 times, never being able to get as far as the start of episode 4. This latest couple tries had me running into most of these issues during my 24 hour live stream for charity, till i just gave up on it. Now a week later i decide to start over and try again, and its locked on a black screen after starting a brand new save and doing episode 1 all in one run in the hopes of it not bugging out. I love Wolf Among Us and Sam and Max, but i'm to the point where I nearly want to give up on the walking dead. Has anyone made an unofficial patch or something that makes this game playable, or should i just stick to the other IPs.

I noticed that you have a few folders named 'Backup Save Files' with prefs.prop (preferences) files in them. I recommend renaming any extra prefs.prop files to prefs.prop.bak to disable them from being seen/associated with the game, then start the game, and your save files should be restored.
Ok, deleted them all, started over yet again, finished episode 2 and after credits when i went to play game it said all the episodes other than episode 1 where coming soon and didn't seem to remember any of my progress. After exiting and re-entering it no longer says coming soon on the other episodes, but it appears to have lost all my progress. PLEASE HELP! I have spent more than 31 hours in mostly episode one and two with one time through three, this is insane.

Please rename the prefs.prop file in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\default
to prefs.prop.bak to disable it, then restart the game, and your save files will be restored.
