S2E5 Physical Copy Won't load?

I recently rented The Walking Dead S2 from my local video store. They just got it and put it out so I'm 99% sure I'm the first person whose had it. The disk is pristine, no scratches. I played episodes 1-4 no problem, and then went to bed for the night. I return this morning to play E5 and I got an "updating content" loading screen. I've waited over an hour and the game still says updating content, with the little circle loading. Is there anyway to fix this without having to delete my save file for S2? I have it rented for a week, so if I have to replay it I can, it's just not ideal for me.

    I apologize for the inconvenience. We have had a few reports from players experiencing this issue, and are currently looking further into the root cause of the issue. We hope to have a resolution in the near future. Unfortunately at this time, the only workaround is to upload your saves to the Playstation Online Storage and start a new game, or delete the Save Data Utility for the game from the Save Data Utility menu on your PS3's XMB, and start a new game in Season Two. Again, my apologies for any difficulties this may cause you, as we look further into the issue.

  • I just encountered this issue today. I was going to play Episode 5, but it perpetually loads on the Updating Content screen.

    For the workaround, if I load the save data to the online storage, delete my save data from the Save Data Utility, start a new game, then copy back my save data from the Online Storage, would I be able to continue from my previous save or would it go back to perpetually loading? Thanks for your help.

    My apologies, unfortunately the issue is save data related, and we are still looking into the cause of the issue. Until the resolution to the issue is released, your save data will continue to experience the issue. Until the issue is resolved, we recommend starting a new game, and you should not experience the issue again.

  • Can we just wait for an update and NOT delete our save data? if thats even possible...cause I REALLY don't want to replay this from the start for the THIRD time and not finish. I just want to continue my save.

  • I have tried everything suggested for this problem with no success. I am pretty unhappy with the copy /paste generic comments on these boards from telltale. It is a problem that needs to be resolved! We pay good money for your games and we deserve updates, patches and fixes. You need to fix the s2ep5 perpetual "updating system" problem. It is not just a "few" people having this problem. I have replayed the game 3 times with the end result being the same..... so that brilliant solution does not work...
