They're wasting the money that they should be using on feeding their family and paying their bills and getting themselves off of welfare. Instead, they're wasting it on stuff. At my school, kids are constantly bragging about the new iPhones and crap that they bought with their welfare money, and they actually have proof that they're buying things. Their parents aren't working to get themselves off of welfare. Thats how it is over here. It's actually possible that the OP isn't from America, and judging by her name, I think she's French.

Welfare is a really low minimum income to allow a lot poor and mi… moreddle-class people to survive in the recession in my country again being on welfare you don't get that much and some people are allowed to buy some things you may see as shit to get excited about while their in such a hard financial state it's really hard to find a job in a recession and have something to be positive about.
My government spent 300,000 euro on biscuits for themselves last year even though they are all millionaires using tax-payers money they will all get pensions of 400,000 a year when they are finished in the government. My toaiseach(pm) gets more wage than barack obama so people on the lowest income such as welfare trying to treat themselves with the pennys they get doesn't bother me at all nor should they be targeted for abuse

I think in any level of wealth there is people making bad financial purchases so you could relate that mentality to anyone. People will always manipulate the system on any level it's human nature there are plenty who barely survive using it properly and the lowest on welfare is always the easiest target.
