Is Shrek a Fable?
SHREK CONFIRMED FOR TWAU SEASON 2
Well... is he, I know recent things like Slenderman aren't but if Jersey Devil can why can't Shrek?
Also, who doesn't want this guy in Season 2?

Me. I don't want him in Season 2, because... just because the whole concept is stupid.
Shrek was created by William Steig in 1990 in a picture book called 'Shrek!'
I know that a Fable encompasses characters from literature/myth/legend/folklore; but Shrek was made WAY after any of the other Fables stories were originally written (I think the latest written character in the comics is Fabletown's fencing instructor Dante Moroe; who is from The Count of Monte Christo, which was written in 1844)
Jersey and Mary are strange additions actually as they are Urban Legends and therefore fairly new additions in the timeline...
I will finish this post by giving comic readers and TWAU fans a fact that they may not have known about: Willingham released Fables a few weeks before Shrek was announced and quoted that if he waited until AFTER Shrek was announced, he wouldn't have released the comic as people kept comparing the two due to the whole idea of changing the fairytale stories and putting multiple tales together in one place...
So Shrek almost killed Fables before it could flourish into something amazing... Think about that :P
Exactly, he could be the antagonist of Season 2!
Shoudn't Jesus be in Fables? In that all most people know about him comes from a book of stories.
Same with other religious figures of course. Like, why not?
Maybe the writer just didn't want to offend the religious right.
I recall Willingham saying somewhere that he didn't want any religious characters in Fables so it could be viewed by all; even though in the comics, Hansel is a devout Christian as are his men...
I think incorporating religious figures is too controversial; no one (at least I hope) says anything like 'The Big Bad Wolf existed' but people do believe in Jesus, Allah etc and some believe that they were/still are real in some way.
Any religious people reading this comment; I mean no offence (I am an atheist; though I do believe in the idea of an Afterlife)
No. Willingham would NEVER approve the idea; plus what would be the point of Shrek?
He's an ogre so he should be up at The Farm, but if he has a glamour...
Oh, look, I don't want him anywhere in the Fableverse, that's my opinion.
I was half joking.
It think Allah is mentioned in an issue by Yusuf or Ali Baba.
I know :P
