What happens in Fairest 33?

edited January 2015 in The Wolf Among Us

Different one this time around eh!?

So normally I would post a thread like this for the main Fables series (148 comes out on the 21st though) But I'm interested in the final issue of Fairest cuz it focuses on Goldilocks...

So what does the maniac get up to in the last issue? I thought she was dead as of Fairest: In All The Land...

  • Lol, mate, again, you should tag your post with spoilers (since for those who haven't read Fairest in All the Land don't know Goldilocks is dead yet).

Just took a quick peek at it (didn't actually read it yet though, will do tonight). But the ending lines seems to indicate that this Goldilocks issue is set sometime during Goldilocks stay at The Farm, but before the events in Fairest in All the Land (since it says, "Story to be continued in Fairest in All the Land, for those who haven't read it yet!).

So I guess that settles it, Goldilocks is dead, and she is staying dead (unless they do something about it in the main story volumes, which I highly doubt would happen).

  • I cant believe old crazycakes is still around lol

Just finished reading it (as well as TWAU #5).

Fairest #33's story is pretty much set after the attack of the Bookburner on the Golden Boroughs Village (where Goldilocks tries to revolt against the Golden Boroughs' Director Mr. Revise, and assist Bookburner by creating a revolution within, but she got shot in the chest by Bookburner's army) which is Jack of Fables Vol 6 - The Big Book Of War.

And it is set before Fairest in All the Land, so the whole storyline is period between Jack of Fables V6 and Fairest in all the Land.

Interesting point of view in this issue - Goldilocks here continuously talks to the reader, as if reader him/herself is travelling with Goldilocks.
Goldilocks travels between worlds to find place where she can settle without being pursued by Fabletown, but eventually finds herself in trouble. But her hate for all the beauties in Fabletown grabs attention of Hadeon, previous fairy-turned to car - and that's where the issue ends.

  • Ok... I had a feeling it would be some kind of filler to say how she got from here to there.

Apparently Willingham wrote it, does that make it better than Clamour For Glamour :P
