What the hell, Snow?

I only finished the game recently, so I apologize if this question has already been answered in this forum, but...was there any particular reason given as to why Snow forces Toad and TJ to leave for the Farm, even if Toad actually has the money to pay for his family's glamour?

I hope there's another explanation besides the writers having to abide within Bill Willingham's continuity, because it makes Snow look like a real uber-bitch. Toad might have been an irresponsible dick, but he made a good point about fables like Bigby and Snow never having to buy glamour spells themselves.

  • Because Toad says like 1 thing in the comics, and hes at the farm, and gotta keep it cannon

That and because Snow is probably tired of Toad always being unglamored and doesn't want to risk it happening again.(knowing toad he was gonna buy another tiny hat instead of getting a glamour.)

  • Upholding the law and such.

  • Snow wants to follow the rules and protect Fabletown's identity. Also, Toad seemed to have a habit of always being unglamoured. Even when he's given money. It was probably for the best that Toad and TJ went to the farm.

  • Toad never has a glamour in the game and he keeps telling Bigby he will get it sorted but doesn't; Toad is a risk and therefore he has to go to the Farm. Because TJ isn't ever glamoured either, he has to go too...

  • Hey-- tiny hats don't come cheap!

  • Did Toad really have the money? Bigby said he'd get it for him, at least if you choose the dialogue option I did, but he is never seen giving the money to Toad. I figured Snow just wanted to abide by the law as much as possible, especially since she just got promoted to deputy mayor, even though she technically had the power to stop them from going to the farm due to being the acting mayor at the time. Snow is very by the book. She doesn't strike me as a bad person, but she doesn't like to break the rules. I think she tries to be as objective as possible, and leaves her personal feelings at the door when she's on the job.

  • I agree with that assessment of Snow.

However, if Bigby lifts Crane's money from his coat and the money from either Crane's apartment or the Tweedle's office, then he can give Toad money outright. He may have to meet Toad in the Lucky Pawn first and offer money, though, before Toad finally accepts in the business office. Doesn't make a difference, though. He's still Farmward bound.

  • The game doesn't say, but I would assume it's to prove a point about following the rules. But, it could possibly be because it's possible to not give Toad the money he needs for the glamou, but it could also just be a continuity errorr...the games plays as if more people would choose to not help out Toad since he's so defiant about being Glamoured. Snow probably confiscated the money for fines towards Toad for never being glamoured. Ooo, well, also, when Toad walks in Snow promptly tells Bigby that he has to tell Toad that he's gotta go to the Farm...so I think so had her mind set up and did it to prove a point..

  • Actually it should be had the money. The moment you give him the money he should have immediately went upstairs to the 13th floor to get the glamour. Obviously he chose not to get a glamour, hence he has to go to the Farm. Also Toad if you send him to the Farm ends up richer than he is currently. TJ will be happier at the Farm. He can swim whenever he wants, not only at night.

  • Its because, as much as I like the game, it does trick you into believing you have more control over the outcome then you actually do. Hardly any choice you make makes any difference at all. I played as a bastard the whole way through but everyone still kissed my ass to some extent, even one armed grendel and it didn't seem like out of fear. I chose to send toad and colin to the farm and felt guilty for it so im going to replay as saintly as possible so I can sleep at night (im over exaggerating but I do feel guilty especially since I didn't execpt tj's gift)
