Black screen error when loading previous save (no .prop file)
I tried to load my game in episode 4 which I was already halfway through, and a black screen appeared, and wouldn't load the game. I've tried searching my steam game folder for the prefs.prop file, but the only one on my pc was in documents. Why isn't it loading properly?

My apologies, after looking over your support tool information, I can't seem to find a reason why you are now loading to a black screen. Below are a few possible solutions (You may have tried a few, but I will post all of the potential solutions to resolve your issue below):
1) Ensure you have the latest drivers for both your graphics card, and your computer’s BIOS
2) Restart your system
3) Unplug your gamepad (and all other USB devices other than keyboard/mouse) and plug in headphones to the audio out jack.
4) Verify your cache if you purchased through Steam (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335)
5) Run the game as admin
6) Run the game in compatibility mode (right click on game’s icon, click properties, click compatibility tab , and we recommend running the game in Windows 98/ME ) (We recommend Windows 98/ME)
7) Reinstall the game
8) Make sure that the Steam application is not set to a compatibility mode (right click on steam and click properties, then check compatibility, and make sure that it is not checked to play in a different OS)
9) Disable Steam Overlay, if you purchased through Steam (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3168263)
10) Opt out of the Steam Beta, if you purchased through Steam (http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/828934424165581080/)
Done all of these, except running the game in compatibility mode (couldn't find how to do it through Steam) and running as admin (ditto). Still the same problem happening. If it helps, I was on the part where you tell Clementine if she can come with you to Crawford or not on the stairs and had just finished the scene (chapter 5 I think). Also, on an unrelated note, I didn't get any achievements for chapters 5 and 6 of episode 1, even though I got all the other ones leading up to the current one.
I apologize for the inconvenience. Please check if you have Steam cloud saves enabled. (You can check this by right clicking on the game in your Steam Library, clicking Properties, and click the Updates tab. Near the bottom of the page, you can see if the Steam Cloud is enabled for The Walking Dead: Season One.) If it is enabled, does disabling it, and restarting Steam allow you to access your saves?
Turned it off, with 3MB stored and restarted Steam. Relaunched the game and Steam and the same thing happened. Nothing changed, all my saves were still there.
After you turned Steam Cloud Saving off, can you please clarify if a secondary save file directory was created? Could you please run the Support Tool again now that you have turned Steam Cloud Saving off? I can then see if you have any other files creating this issue.

Unfortunately after looking over your Support Tool information, I can't seem to find an issue with your file directory. Please try starting the game again, and when you see the blank/black screen, please try switching the game to Windowed Mode using the shortcut (Alt+Enter for PC) and see if you are then able to see the game correctly. If so, please then try changing the game's resolution and/or graphics settings to a lower setting, and click Apply. Then try switching back to Full Screen Mode by using the same shortcut, and your issue should then be resolved.
If you still experience the black screen, this may occur if your save files have become corrupted. This can happen if the game were ever exited/closed during an autosave or loading sequence, and unfortunately if this is the case, you will need to start a new game.
Well the black screen still happened, even after changing the resolution (GPU: Radeon HD 7770 Vapor-x Edition). I think it's corrupted . Thanks for your help anyway.
