Epsiodes saying "coming soon", can't download

I'm having trouble downloading the epsiodes for Walking Dead Season 1 - specifically the Special Epsisode - 400 Days. Previously all the epsiodes said "purchased" and had the button to download. I was able to download episodes 2,3 and 4 like this no problems. I had to interupt the download of episode 5 at 57% then when I went to finish the download the button had gone and both episode 5 and 400 Days both just said "coming soon". After restarting the game a few times the "purchased" buttons came back and I was able to complete the episode 5 download and begin the 400 Days download. It reached 63% before I had to interupt it. Now no number of restarts seems to be solving the problem and my saved game appears to have dissapeared also.

Any ideas?

  • I am having this SAME problem! I had to re-set my IPOD and re-download my Walking Dead Season 1 game.....So, in order to get all the episodes I had already previously purchased, I clicked on to buy the multi pack (which I originally bought and have been told to do EVERY TIME I want my episodes back - AND has worked in the past) but all that happens is under each episode it says "coming soon" and won't let you download them for play. I tried clicking on them multiple times with no luck too. I also tried deleting and re-installing the Walking Dead app multiple times with no success either (even tried clicking on 'restore previous purchases' but that doesn't work either). I tried restarting my IPOD after installation, turning off my IPOD after installation and basically any combination you can think of but NOTHING works.

    Can you guys PLEASE fix this asap?! As per the above message, it looks like I'm not the only person this is happening to, and if it's happening to more than 2 people - it's happening to a lot more you don't know about or haven't reported it yet.

    I want to play some Walking Dead Season 1 while I wait for the new GoT, please!

    PS. Walking Dead Season 2 and TWAU worked fine when I re-purchased past episodes for re-installation. So it's just TWD Season 1.

    I'm having the same problem. Bought WD s1 yesterday and deloaded ep2.
    This morning the rest of the episodes show coming soon. It does not even indicate if it has been paid for.

    I hope this is just a temporary server problem at your end telltale, because I'd want a refund if it is an error here.

    Please close the game and all other applications running in the background. This should free up necessary system resources. (To close an app running in the background on iOS 6 and before: double tap the home button to make all running apps appear at the bottom of the screen, hold down on an app you wish to close and red buttons will appear, tap the red buttons to close the apps. If on iOS 7/8, double tap the home button and swipe up on the open apps to close them) Also, please turn off your iOS device for at least three minutes before attempting to play the game again. This will allow the device’s cache to clear.

    Then after restarting your device, please reset the WiFi by turning the WiFi Settings Off, and back On again. Then try starting the game application again, and see if you are able to successfully see the episodes updated as available to download. You can also try connecting to a different WiFi network, and see if that connection allows you to download the episodes quicker/more easily.

    I should have specified that I was having this problem on a PC. It occured on three different wifi connections (2 different ADSL connections and also when using mobile hotspot from my phone). I attempted multiple restarts of both the game itself as well as the computer. Good news is the problem kind of solved itself. After another fruitless attempt I walked away from the computer having left the game running. When I returned some time later the "coming soon" had changed to "get" and I was able to complete the download. I guess it was too shy to appear when I was looking, lol.

    PS - my saved game never reappeared so I don't know what happened to it. Not a big deal but still annoying. Fortunately I had only just finished episode 2. Happy to play through again.

    My apologies, have you tried closing the application, and connecting to a different WiFi Network, then opening the app, and see if the app updates to show the episodes as available to download? Also, have you made sure that the game application is updated to the latest version from the app store?

  • Same problem, solved after deleting and reinstalling the game. Did not try to close the aplicativos tough, maybe you should try this first.

    I apologize for the delayed response. After looking over your support tool file, there does not seem to be any save files in your save file directory at all. Can you please clarify if you ever tried uninstalling the game? If so, did you check the checkbox to keep your save files while the game uninstalled? If not, the uninstall process would have deleted your save files along with the game. If not, can you please clarify if you ever backed up your save files to an external hard drive or other device?

    If you are still experiencing issues downloading any episodes of the game, we have improved the connectivity of our servers, and I would recommend uninstalling the game, deleting your The Walking Dead file directory, then downloading a new installer from our website, and install the game again fresh, and you should not experience the issue.
