Decisions not carrying over to Ep. 2.

I seen comments about Xbox One having this same issue but have yet to see any ppl saying it about the PS4, which is what I played it on. Unless I'm not seeing something that should be fairly obvious, then some error is keeping my decisions from ep. 1 carrying over to ep. 2. So I'm just curious if I'm missing something or if there's going to be any kind of fix to this problem. Thanks.

  • Same problem here. It's almost been a week since it was released and still no news.

My apologies, we have not heard of this issue occurring on the PS4 platform. Can you please clarify the region/country you are currently located in, if you are connected to the internet through a wired, or wireless network connection, and if you originally played Episode 1 right as it released, or more recently? Also, have you rewound the game at any point in time, either to a new save slot, or in your original save slot?

I realize you were talking to the original poster but thought I'd include what happened to me as I'm also experiencing this issue on ps4.

I bout the season pass recently. Im located in the united states. I had not rewound the game once and played the first episode in one sit down Using the first save slot. I was disconnected from the internet at the time of playing. This in fact happened yesterday. I went to continue onto the second episode and the "previously on game of thrones" had choices made I had not made in my play through.

  • USA, wired connection, I have not used the rewind function, I'm im the first save slot, downloaded season pass about 2 weeks ago and last played was this past weekend. I was connected to the Internet when I played. Glad to see more people posting about the PS4 problem.

Can you please clarify if you rewind to the last part of Episode 1, and play through the end while connected to the internet, that your choices then carry over successfully to Episode 2?

If you were playing online for the first episode, can you please clarify if you are able to see all of your Episode 1 Stats/Choices in the My Choices page from the main menu of the game? Also, did you possibly link your Telltale account with your Playstation account so that you can see your choices on our Game of Thrones Choices page? (To get to your choices page, please click on the tab on the left side of the webpage, then click Episodes, and then One. Then click Choices within that list, and you should see your Stats/Choices if you have linked your accounts.

  • Ok so I connected to the Internet this time and it had me sign into my telltale account to link them. I then proceeded to click start episode 2 just to see if that would fix the problem without having to rewind episode 1 and it worked. My choices are now correct. So from what it seems the problem is, is that you need to be connected to the Internet to get it to carry through. Hopefully this helps other people and thanks for replying.

  • I don't know how to link my telltale account with my playstation account. Every time I click on my telltale account in game it says please connect you ps4 to the playstation network. I'm online so I don't know what the problem is.

If you are receiving a 'connect to the network' error message, can you please clarify what region/state of the US you are currently located in? It may be a connectivity issue. Have you tried resetting your internet modem/router, as well as your console, then after your modem/router has reset and re-connected, start the game again, and see if you are then able to connect?

  • I'm in Kansas. I have reset the modem and router and restarted the system. I can login to the playstation network it just says I'm not connected in game when I click on telltale account.

Can you please clarify if you are able to get to the log in screen, and input your email/username and password, or are you receiving the error message when opening that page? If you are receiving it after inputting your email/username and password, can you please clarify if you currently have any special characters in your password? Anything other than letters and numbers?

I apologize, unfortunately I am out of potential solutions to resolve your issue. I recommend try restarting the game a few times while connected to the internet, and after a few tries you should be able to successfully connect/link your accounts.

  • I had the same problem. After many, maany hours I decided to use someone else's profile, just with another save. Fortunately it worked, don't know why though.
    I have two hypothesis:
    1) It was because the first time I played episode 1, I kept going back to previous saves in order to redo some of my choices.
    2) It was because I didn't have a psn user, nor did I have a telltale account connected.

  • Ok. maybe I just wasn't connected. Been a while since I played it so I don't remember if I was or not. I'll give it a try. Seems like most ppl are finding a solution so this may be the fix I need.

  • I got it to work. I guess I just didn't have it connected and linked to my Telltale account. Thanks for your help.

  • I am having the same problem as well, I have a ps4 and none of my choices have gone through either and when I try to link my Talltales account through my ps4 I keep getting the same message 'be on the internet to link up' Even though I am on. Im on a wireless router and I am in California.

  • I tried a wired connection and still had the same issue of the choices not going through. I was signed into my PlayStation Network perfectly fine, able to go to the PSN net work but I still cannot get a connection to the telltale site.

  • I'm still having this problem as well. I'm going to try reinstalling the game and if that doesn't work I'm going to get ahold of telltale at demand a refund because this is crap.

Can you please clarify if when you were connected through a wired connection, that you tried rewinding to the last part in Episode 1 (Part 6), then replay through the end of the episode, or did you choose to rewind to Part 1 of Episode 2? If you rewound to the beginning of Episode 2, your choices would not update, and your issue may not have been resolved.

  • I have TWD Season 1 / Season 2 & The Wolf Among Us on PS3 and they worked just fine. I bought the season pass for both GoT & Tales From the Borderlands on PS4, and these games won't go online. It was automatic on PS3. Whatever changes Telltale made to how the game connected, such as the TT site account, have only complicated things.

I live in the Eastern United States, and I'm connected (wirelessly) to the internet/PSN. I can access PS Store and download updates, but linking my TT account doesn't do anything; it thinks I'm not connected to the network. As I said before, I am connected. Both games load up and say: "Checking for downloadable content" and then they take me to the main menu. No error message or anything. I've already tried everything you've suggested to others and it fixed nothing. The only thing I haven't tried is re-installing the game because I don't want to have to download them again and have the issue still exist.

  • Bought season pass roughly a week ago then downloaded episode 2, none of my choices carry over. I have a wireless connection, live in Iowa. Tried to link accounts but it says I am not online. I did rewind the last part in episode 1. I have restarted the entire episode and have uninstalled and reinstalled and it still won't work.

  • TelltaleMikeTelltaleMike Former Telltale Staff

If you are currently connected wirelessly and are experiencing the issue, please try connecting through a wired connection, and see if that connection is stronger, and allows you to connect to our servers successfully, and allow you to carry your choices over between episodes.

  • I'm currently linked with my telltale account (it says so when I go to the menu option to link them) I played through episode one, restarted episode 2 when none of my choices carried over, still the wrong choices. I then rewound and played the end of episode one and still they won't carry over.

I have a wired connection, downloaded both in the last 2 days and started them one after the other. During my first playthrough I did not have a connection (my internet is finnicky) but connected before replaying the end of ep 1 and as soona s I did I got all the trophies I had earned, so it did recognize I was linked then. Also I have no 'my choices' option on any menu, main or otherwise. I am on ps4 and am in Illinois.

  • TelltaleMikeTelltaleMike Former Telltale Staff

I apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately if you did not have a connection during your first playthrough, your choices may not have successfully connected with our servers in order to create the My Choices page on the main menu, and would not have carried over into the second episode. I recommend connecting to the internet, and starting the game to make sure that you have the latest update available for the game downloaded and installed. Then start a new game while connected to the internet, and play through the first episode, making sure you were connected to the internet, and your Stats/Choices page should show up at the end of the episode, as well as a 'My Choices' page should be created on the main menu. Again, my apologies for any difficulties this may cause you.
