How do I get the third gold piece?

I need help getting the pirates to give up their gold piece they're guarding. I can make them bury and unbury the treasure, and I can cause them to turn around, but I can't find anything to put into their treasure chest without it being seen!

Help please?

    Hint: You need to be able to find the chest after they bury it. Is there anything in your inventory that likes to make a lot of noise without prompting?
    Get them distracted and place the pyrite parrot in the chest. Then go hunting for it on the other islands.

    how do i go hunting for it on the other small islands? guybrush keeps telling me he doesnt want to dig in the sand 'randomly'?

    Check an island in the upper right hand corner of the map

    If you want to find a buried treasure it has to be able to attract your attention even if its buried
