So apparently Telltale Games does not care about its customers. No additional response.. Really? Telltale games has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Where is our fix? Come one Telltale Mike.. Where are you now?
I sincerely apologize for the delayed response. Unfortunately it appears you have tried all of my potential solutions to resolve the issue. I have passed the information along to the team that your issue is still occurring even on your 500 GB Xbox 360. Unfortunately at this time I do not have any updates on a resolution.
I cannot believe that I paid money for this garbage. It lags so much to the point to where during the action sequences, I just usually end up getting my ass kicked because it's likely that I'll miss the input. When I opened up the game, I was already extremely surprised and slightly worried when it didn't ask for an update. Usually a game will receive and update for bugs or whatever but no not with this game. Instead, I have to actually come online and see if other people have this problem, which nonsurprisingly they do!
I've done every single suggestion that I've read online. I cleared space, I cleared the system cache, no I do not have the downloadable version/demo version installed into my xbox 360, I've disconnected off of xbox live, I literally have done every single suggestion that you probably could have thought of.
For christ's sakes telltale, you make great stories but your games are so awfully broken that it tears down any credibility you could have had for me. I can't play your game if it won't work, and I paid good money for it. I can't stand this kind of bullshit business strategy, I mean if there even is one! You people aren't serving your customers right, instead you're giving us bullshit advice that doesn't seem to work for 80% of the people that have this problem(which is likely 100% of the people who bought the disc version). Release an update, or recall the fucking game because this is the most ridiculous game that I've ever played. Videogames need to be SMOOTH, otherwise it just won't work.
Honestly, if I could get in touch with someone from telltale games and get my money back I would do it in a heartbeat regardless of that fact that it was only 20 bucks. Anything to keep an extremely unhelpful company from getting my money.
I joined this forum just to look for an answer to this question.
I downloaded the demo (1st Chapter a while ago) Everything was perfect, "great game" I thought, so I decided to buy it. I currently don't have access to internet at my house so I bought the disk Version for £25. Came home and losing times took forever, cutscenes are unwatchable and the game is just unplayable (From the very beginning)!
I took my version back to the store where I bought it but because I didn't have the receipt they wouldn't take it back. They said that they could give me regular trade in price of £7 (net loss of £18) "No thanks" I said.
Now I'm stuck with a game that doesn't work and no way of getting my money back!
I would like to know what Telltale is going to do about this?
I can se this is a HUGE issue for many people on this forum; this should be a top priority case for you yet you have had no valuable feedback so far in weeks for the others on here.
Please let us know what you are going to do about this fiasco!
I picked up the game a few days ago and decided to give this a go. Now, as soon as the game started I noticed a slight bit of lag and some framedrops. Not much of a big deal, since it later went away after a few minute. However, as soon as a fight sequence started it dropped so fast that I had no time to react to what was happening on the screen, in other words I can't play the game.
I've tried starting without internet - Resulted in a black screen (can't disconnect the internet once in the game due to it being connected to my wifi).
I've cleared the cache and no change.
I haven't had any downloaded version of the game before.
There is ~90% free space left on the hard drive.
I have no idea what to do, but as it stands I've got a game I cannot play.
I sincerely apologize for any difficulties this has caused you. If you have tried all of the potential solutions I have suggested in this Discussion, and you are still experiencing the issue, I recommend contacting the retailer, and see if you are either able to exchange the game for a different copy, or inquire about a refund for the disc version. I apologize I could not be of more assistance with your issue.
I have been looking forward to this game and I'm still unable to play. These problem arose three months ago, weren't you able to fix anything? I tried everything you've suggested and I can't even get past the start up screen.
TelltellMike. As far as tech support is concerned, you have provided zero help for users. Clearing your cache does nothing. I have 14 GB of memory available. I am playing from the disc, offline per your suggestion. NONE of these help. The game freezes after I press start. I have waited well over 15 mins, tried multiple times. Every suggestion you gave other users I have tried. I really enjoyed The Walking Dead and looked forward to a game with similar style. Your complete lack of acknowledging an issue and making it look like a user error shows a lack of accountability. I am returning this game and will not purchase another Tell tell game, not only due to the in game bugs but also due to your poor tech support and lack of credibility.
This is such a joke! How has this game not been patched yet! I got the Xbox 360 disc version for Christmas like the majority of everyone else, I tried to play it, couldn't, sent it back, got a new copy. I got as far as completing Chapter 1, though it was mostly lag, audio errors, and sequences that skipped and froze, usually resulting in my failing to hit a button and dying. Now, if I can even get to the main menu at all, the game freezes right when I attempt to play Chapter 2. It is ridiculous. I have never in my life had such a broken game.
And all we are getting told is to 'clear our cache files', 'play offline.' It doesn't make a damn difference! FIX your BROKEN game! Or give everyone a free download code...though I have a feeling the game wouldn't play any better.
Your games are great Telltale, it just sucks that you care so little about fixing them so that all of your fans can actually play, and enjoy them.
My sincerest apologies. If my above solutions were not able to resolve your issue, we have had multiple reports from users stating that they were able to improve the framerates of their Xbox 360 disc versions by starting an episode, then pausing the game and waiting 5-10 minutes to allow the game to cache. Then unpause the game, and the hitching/lagging issue you are experiencing in the game should be lessened, if not completely resolved.
If you still experience the issue, and are on a 4GB Xbox 360 Slim, this particular console will not be able to play the game without installing an internal hard drive as the 4GB internal flash memory will not suffice in order for the game to cache properly. As stated on the cover of the game case, an internal hard drive is required to play the game. Acquiring and installing an internal hard disk drive compatible with your Xbox360 4GB console will resolve this issue (a hard disk drive connected via your Xbox 360’s USB port will NOT provide a remedy).
I have over 300 gb of space on my console so I know that is not the problem. And no offense, but pausing the game for 5-10 minutes is a ridiculous idea for a solution, no game should have to be paused for any amount of time for it to work, but I tried anyway, and it does nothing. No change. This game just seriously needs to get patched already.
I read an article on Batman Arkham Knight today, and it instantly made me think of this thread. After widespread issues with gameplay on PC, Warner Bros has pulled the game so they can fix it. They're offering refunds to everyone who bought the broken version, and issued the following statement:
We want to apologize to those of you who are experiencing performance issues with Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. We take these issues very seriously and have therefore decided to suspend future game sales of the PC version while we work to address these issues to satisfy our quality standards. We greatly value our customers and know that while there are a significant amount of players who are enjoying the game on PC, we want to do whatever we can to make the experience better for PC players overall
This, my friends, is how a real video game publisher reacts when problems are reported.
Warner Bros = pulls the game, apologizes profusely, offers refunds, vows to fix the problem.
Telltale = months of b.s. responses and telling buyers of their game "we know we sold you a product that doesn't work. Sorry, better luck next time".
