It's just an excellent piece of work! The plot is engaging and flawless! The characters are all different and unique! The soundtrack is incredibly cool! The artwork is amazing! The whole idea is genius! This is one of the greatest adventure games... hell, it's one of the greatest GAMES ever made! It's humourous, sophisticated and just downright awesome, if you haven't yet played this game then you are missing out on something special here! What Schafer has created here is a masterpiece and is an absolute essential for self-respecting adventure game fan!

I always wondered about buying old PC games, I mean, do they work on PC's today?

I run Windows XP and have quite a few old adventure games from my Windows 98 days, that just won't run on this computer.
I did get one of my Discworld games to run, but the graphics are extremely pixelated and it kind of spoils the game.

I would hunt down titles I missed if I knew I could play them.

Generally speaking, anything not designed for Windows 2000 or later, you'll have difficulty running on XP. However, there is a side-project of ScummVM, called Residue, which aims to allow the Grim engine (short: GrimE. Spot the joke) to run successfully on modern computers. However, I don't think they've released anything yet, so see if LucasArts re-released Grim recently.

As for Discworld, it sounds like a dodgy resolution. Try the next version of ScummVM: I understand the current developmental version is compatable with the first two Discworld games.

There are only few games I haven't managed to get to work in XP and probably if I had put more effort I would have solved the problems. And I'm not computer genius by any standards.

Thanks for that info, I'll definitely look into a newer version of Scumm. It hadn't even crossed my mind that there may be updates

    Thanks again :)

BTW, doesn't look goof for Discworld Noir, but hopefully it could work ;)

There is a Grim Fandango installer available from the same guy who did the CMI and EMI installers:

How does that work then..I install my game as normal then use this installer afterwards....or do I use this first?

    Excuse my ignorance ;)

Run the installer first and follow the prompts to install the game. It includes a new launcher/setup program that can automatically download and install the GF patch from Lucasarts' web site, and it can also install the game to your hard drive for play without the CDs.
